CHAPTER 48 | ENDING HER

Pyro's P.O.V.

The smell of rust and decay woke me up. It took me a moment to figure out where I was due to the room spinning. By the coldness and texture of the floor, I was lying on concrete, and the smell made it evident that I was in an abandoned building.

Once my headache subsided from the wolfbane, one by one, my senses slowly came to, my sight being the second. A quick look around, I could tell I was right. I was in an abandoned factory or warehouse and far from any help.

When I couldn't move my legs when I wanted to get a better view of my surroundings, I could already guess what it was. They felt as if they were being weighed down by lead.

"Damn," looking down at my legs, large industrial link chains were wrapped around my ankle, and far too big for me to break out of, "where did they even find something that large?"

I laid there, trying to figure out a way for me to get out of here. But, nothing came to mind that would help me.

The wolfbane was still in my system, and there was no way I could hold my protectors form in my current state just yet. I know I would do more damage than good if I try to summon them. If only I were still unconscious, then my protector would have no problem being summoned.

"You can't do this," I heard someone yell from somewhere within the building, "you can go to jail for kidnapping."

As the person continues to convince someone to let me go, their voice becomes more recognizable, the closer they get to me.

Turning the corner first into the room I was being held in was a tall man, over six feet. Though he was wearing a leather jacket, I could tell underneath it was an athletic body. His expression darkened when his eyes landed on me.

"Why are you even doing this to him," followed the person I was hoping it wasn't "he didn't do anything to you."

The closer the man got to me, I could see the resemblance he and Tyler had.

They are related.

"Dad, this is not right," Tyler went on to say, "he is my friend."

"He's not what you think he is," said the man, his cold voice void of emotions as his hate-filled eyes shoot daggers at me.

"Tyler," I went on to say as I slowly got myself in a sitting position, "what's going on?"

Tyler turns to look at me, his eyes filled with worried and concern. He was about to step in my direction, but his father quickly put him into a chokehold. Tyler did his best to try and escape his father's hold, but it was useless.

"Brother," chuckled another man as he turned into the room, followed by others, "hold back a little, don't end up killing your child."

"Show Tyler who his friend actually is," Tyler's father ordered as he looks over at me.

"Why don't you tell him what you do instead of worrying about what I am," I went on to ask Tyler's father, already knowing the answer, "tell him what you all hunt."

Tyler's father looked over to his brother and gestured towards me. Seconds later, two hunters that stood behind his father's brother pull out nightsticks that were electrified. Tyler continues to break free from his father's hold as he pleaded for the others to stop and let me go.

The two men with the nightsticks slowly approach me.

"I don't think so," growled a familiar voice as they landed several feet in front of me, blocking the two hunters, "this one is mine."
