Chapter 33 | True Nature
Tasha's P.O.V.
"That's it," I whispered to myself.
I was over with the whole family thing, and I don't know how I did it for so long. It didn't mean much to me since Pyro was born.
Why did he have to be born with a white wolf instead of me?
Before my first shift, I dreamed of having a white wolf. I heard stories of how they were envied by everyone because of their beauty. In the stories and old tails that were told to me, they were treated like goddesses because they were goddesses. A white wolf was everything I wanted and want I embody. I prayed to the heavens to bless me with a white wolf every night I went to bed.
And then, I shift at the age of five.
What I saw in the reflection of the water wasn't what I wanted. A wolf of golden honey fur and brown eyes stare back at me. Though she didn't have white fur, she still caught the eyes of many. Though I was still young, I knew I could live a life like a white wolf when I'm older.
Then Pyro was born.
My aunt and uncle hope Pyro would have dark fur like his older brothers.
His first shift was at three, under the usual age when most first shifts. Sleeping inside Pyro's play pin was a pure white wolf, the beauty of his wolf surpasses mine. His wolf was beyond unique, the only one of its kind.
Fearing what this may cause, we left our pack for the safety of Pyro. The worst that could have happened would be Pyro being saved for the alpha's son. I would love to be the mate of a future alpha.
As time went on, I grew angry, hearing Pyro complain about having a white wolf. To him, it was more of a curse than a gift. He didn't want the attention that came with having a white wolf. He wanted to have a regular wolf, so he didn't have to be careful.
I was ten when I found out I could be a howler, just like my mother. This was something I kept from my aunt and uncle since I knew they would keep me from learning more about my gifts. I told the time to learn about Howling Spells and how to cast them when I awaken.
Now that I'm awake, I finally was able to put those howlers spells to use. Some were fake and a waste of time, but some work perfectly for me.
While I waited for the day I would awaken, I did befriend a few howlers.
I smiled as I heard the sound of movement in the woods behind me.
"What took you guys so long?" I continued to stare forward over the cliff, looking at the treetops down below, "it's been two days since I told you I awoken."
"We ran into a few rogues on the way here," he said, I could tell he had a smile on his face, "What's so important that all of us had to come?"
"Is that offer still open," I asked as I turned to face him.
"Yeah," a smile forms at his lips, "why?"
"I want in," I told him, turning back around, "It's time for a change."
"What, you want to start here?"
"Why not? It's a perfect place to start," I said loud enough so those hidden could hear me, "So are you in?"
There was a moment of them talking between themselves. There were a few that disagree, and I told those howlers to leave. A few moments later, there was silence.
"We're in," said the one who brought them here "are you sure about this, there is no turning back once it starts."
"Me as your leader," I turn to face the other members within this pack, "We can destroy this pack from the inside out, and us howlers will claim this land as ours."
The group roar in agreement.
"And then," I slowly made my way to the edge of the cliff, "I will take the life of the one who took what's rightfully mine."
I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
