"Jay? Jay! Wake up! Wake up wake up wake up!" Henry bounced on Jay's bed, eyes glittering with excitement. "We're in Sam and Dean's house!" Jay groaned as last night's events came rushing back to the young hunter, and she sat up with a gasp.

"Oh, my gosh! What time is it?" Henry glanced at his watch.

"Eleven am," he responded. Jay's eyes widened.

"What? But why... what... when..." she spluttered. "Why didn't you wake me up sooner?!" The blonde haired boy shrugged.

"You were sleeping," he answered simply. Jay leapt out of bed, grabbing her brush and frantically pushing it through her thick hair.

"They're gonna think I'm so lazy! They'll think I'm a bad hunter because I can't even get up in the morning and-" she paused, sniffing. "Can I smell bacon?"

"Yeah. Dean made some," Henry handed her a hairband. "I didn't know he could cook." Jay grabbed the band, scraping her hair back into a loose ponytail, bustling about as she got ready.

"Why wouldn't he?" she asked absently.

"I dunno. Just never really struck me as someone who could cook. Then again, he fought Lucifer, Metatron, Amara, Azazel-"

"Yes, yes, I get it."

"-the Leviathans, Cain, Michael-"

"Henry!"

"- the Angels, the Demons, Ruby-" Jay put her hand over Henry's mouth, cutting off his tirade. They struggled for a moment, before Henry's tongue darted out and licked a line along Jay's palm. The elder girl shrieked, jerking her hand back and glaring at it disgustedly.

"Did you just lick me?" she asked, wiping her hand on her brown leather jacket.

"You put your hand on my mouth," he shrugged. "Now come on!"

He bounded out the door, disappearing from view as he headed into the kitchen. Jay rolled her eyes, following the younger boy.

"Jay." Jay turned to see Joanna stood in the doorway of what was presumably her room.

"Yeah?" she answered. Joanna winced.

"I have a migraine. I'm going back to bed. Wake me if something important happens." Jay nodded, frowning.

"Okay," she turned back, hurrying to catch up with Henry's rapidly retreating figure.

Entering the kitchen, the juicy smell of sizzling bacon hit her. She closed her eyes, inhaling deeply, revelling in the buttery, fatty aroma. She smiled.

"See, Sammy? At least someone enjoys my cooking," at Dean's voice her eyes snapped open. He was stood over the stove, wearing a ridiculous pink Kiss the Cook apron and was grinning from ear to ear. He nodded to the table. "Breakfast." Jay grinned and sat down, grabbing one of the plates of buttery bacon and scrambled eggs. She glanced round the table.

"Aren't you eating anything?"

Sherlock glanced up, then back down at the empty space in front of him.

"I don't eat when I'm thinking," he explained. "It's slows down my thinking process." Jay frowned.

"That's bad for you," she remarked, pointedly biting into a piece of bacon. It crunched satisfyingly, the juice filling her mouth. It was salty, but slightly sweet, and buttery. Jay smiled slightly.

"You honestly talking to me about what's bad for you? You hunt monsters for a living. That includes demons from hell, wrathful angels, and vengeful spirits," he answered. Jay blinked. It would have been a pretty good comeback if he hadn't said it so emotionlessly. Like a robot. Instead of feeling sassed at, she shrugged and continued eating.

Henry was pestering Dean, bombarding the elder hunter with questions and dancing around him like a lunatic. Dean just smiled and answered the questions, divulging the blonde boy. John was quietly reading a newspaper and drinking a cup of tea- very British- but nodded at her. Sam was eating scrambled eggs with rocket. Jay wrinkled her nose.

"What?" Sam asked, glancing at his food to check he hadn't dropped anything in it.

"Nothing," Jay answered. "It's just so... healthy." She whispered the last word like it was an insult. Dean gasped dramatically and clutched his chest.

"A girl after my own heart!" he proclaimed, swooping down to kneel before her and clasp her hands. "Are you an angel?" Jay snorted.

"If I were I'd kill myself," she answered. Dean laughed, standing back up. Sam sniggered.

"What does that mean?" Cas's voice made them jump.

"Dammit, Cas!" Dean grunted, wiping sizzling oil off his arm.

"I apologise. I just..." the seraph trailed off, eyes watching nothing. A horrified look passed across his face. The Winchesters, Sherlock and John tensed.

"Cas?"

And then there was a flash of light, and their guardian angel was gone.
