Unexpected (TaeJin)

Jin POV

I wish I wouldn't have told Tae about the YeRin thing. It's not like he's treating me differently but... this is going to sound really pathetic but, I really wanted to go all the way with him. I was so ready for it too, but then that stupid memory of her came into my head ruining everything.

"Mr. Lee will see you now." The receptionist tells me snapping me out of my thoughts. I nod to her and head into his office.

Right now I'm at Lee and Lee Divorce attorneys. I don't know how any of this works but I read online that these brothers were pretty good.

"Take a seat Mr. Kim." Lee says from behind his desk. I nod glancing around the room. It's really nice and bright in the room from the large windows. The dark furniture goes well with the bright light, not to mention the painting hanging on the wall is really captivating.

I sit in the chair across from Lee and wait for him to begin talking.

"So, why are you here today Mr. Kim?"

I gulp and rub the back of my neck. "I'm here to file a petition for a divorce from my wife."

Mr. Lee nods. He pulls out a vanilla envolope and places it on his desk. "Is she willing?"

"Willing to...?" I ask nervously.

Mr. Lee gently smiles and nods. "Not a good marriage at all huh?" He asks. I shake my head. "So she doesn't know you're here?"

"No sir... I'm kinda doing this behind her back." I admit.

"Well.. since she's not for it you do understand this is probably gonna be lengthy trial and cost a pretty penny right?"

I nod in silence. I probably look like a student getting a disciplinary scolding, I can't keep talking and sitting the way I am. I have to act my age and not frightened by a woman.

"I see that look Mr. Kim." Mr. Lee says.

I'm puzzled by his words. "What look?" I question.

"Your wife is a tiger mother isn't she?"

Hmm.. come to think of it, she was raised by a tiger mother. Oh god, just imagining her having a child concerns me. "Yes.. you could say that. It's more of she has a tiger mother."

Mr. Lee nods his head understanding. "I see, do you have any children with your wife?" He asks sitting up to his desk and pulling out a paper and pen.

"No." I answer. "Not to rush-and I know we just started but, how long will this be? This session anyway."

"It depends on what you want to try and discuss right now." Mr. Lee says.

I don't want to be here too long, I told Tae I would swing by to see him for a little while today. I didn't want to come here especially on the weekend but I didn't have much of a choice. I didn't have the time in the week and this weekend YeRin is visiting her parents in Busan.

"I want to get the basics done and taken care of, I want to be done with this woman as soon as possible." I tell Mr. Lee. I readjust myself in my seat, I need him to try and understand where I'm coming from. Yeah he's a divorce lawyer but, Just because that's his job, it doesn't always mean he will fully understand why I need out. "If I don't get out of this relationship I'm gonna die. I'm not going to sit here and sugar coat anything about this woman or my marriage, please tell me there's a way I get out of this as quickly as possible." I plead.

Mr. Lee flutters his eyes shut and nods. he opens his eyes up and moves from behind his desk and walks over to me. "I will help you the best that I can, and I'm sorry your marriage has gotten to this point."

I sigh in relief. "Thank you so much, you have no idea how much this means to me."

"You're not the first man I've had come to me to get a divorce. I will say that you are the first that has such strong feelings towards divorce though." Mr. Lee admits. He leans against his desk crossing his arms over his chest, he takes one hand and rubs his chin. "what's the reason why you want to end it so badly?"

Why? There's a mess of reasons why so I'm not quite sure where to begin...

"Does there have to be a reason?" I wonder.

"Well, having a reason will help us identify where we should go with your case." Mr. Lee answers.

I'm gay, she raped me, and I'm pretty sure she's cheating on me. I know I'm cheating on her but she knows this already, that is as long as she actually believes that she's been saying.

"Is not loving or being interested in the person a reason?" I ask.

Mr. Lee laughs. "Are you serious? You've got to be the funniest guy I've ever met." He laughs grasping my shoulder.

I raise my eyebrow in confusion. "So it's not?"

"It's a reason but, how about we go along the lines of something a little more in depth, hmm?" Mr. Lee suggest as he glides his way back to his seat.

Another reason? I don't want to say that she raped me... If I go off and say that I have no doubt in my mind that she'll come back with something far worse and or more brutal that my testimony.

"Adultery...?" I question.

"Do you have proof?" he asks me. He takes his pen and gets ready to write my accusation down.

"I could try and get some."

"SeokJin, how about you just try talking to her and then come back." Mr. Lee. He sounds like he's done hearing my assumptions. "If shes oh-so-bad, maybe she'll beat on you and we can go for abuse."

"What if she has done that before..." I say avoiding eye contact.

Mr. Lee cocks his head and narrows his eyes. "She has? Do you have proof of that?" He asks skeptically.

No, I'm not going down this road. "Never mind, she hasn't."

"Are you sure Mr. Kim? You can tell me. If she has that would definitely fit in a reason for divorce."

"Yes I'm sure." I lie.

Mr. Lee sighs realizing that even if I am being honest that I don't want to go down with this type of fight. She's a tiger daughter, which means she's a pro at manipulation. I guess that I could try talking to YeRin but I highly doubt I'll be able to get anywhere with it considering that when I told her I wanted one she raped me.

I stand up from my seat and bow. "Thank you Mr. Lee, we will be in contact."

Mr. Lee nods standing up to bow. "If anything happens or you find some critical information, give the office a call and we'll see what we can do."

"Of course." I smile leaving his office.

SORRY FOR THE LATE UPDATE! I've been doing a lot of school work recently and I have to make sure I pass! On a side note, anyone go to Wells College in Aurora, NY?? I will be attending there in the fall! So if you go there, HIT ME UP! XP
