The bright light took over Cody's eyesight as he woke up. He tried to sit up in the bed but his whole upper body hurt as if he got hit by a bus. He put one of his hands on his face, trying to cover his eyes from the bright light. He heard the door open and close as someone was walking towards the bed. He removed his hand from his face and he saw something he thought he would never see again. His dad walked over to the bed and sat down on one of the chairs next to him. Cody looked at his dad as he tried to sit up again, which he succeed. "What are you doing here dad?", he said being confused. "I'm sorry, Cody.", he said looking down at his feet. Cody was surprised, he never thought of his dad calling him Cody. "I didn't know how to accept it so it came out as anger. I do want you as my kid and i'm sorry I haven't been there for you as much as I should've been. I just hope you could forgive me.", he said painfully. Cody's eyes started to tear up as he smiled widely. "Yeah, I forgive you." His dad grinned and went to give him a hug. Cody hugged him back, even if it hurt, he knew his dad would come around eventually.
