The Fairy's Return

Chapter 2

"We did it!"

A white haired girl cheered as she highfived a pink haired man. The man grinned widely, showing his slightly pointed teeth.

The girl walked forward to the dead creature before them. The creature had long sharp teeth and a purple scaly hide. The creature vaguely resembled a big crocodile, the main difference being that this creature could spit acid.

The girl had a look of disgust on her face as she bent down and pulled one scale loose. She tucked it into her pouch before turning around again.

"Let's go see Mr. Hana."

The two people walked side by side, every now and then one would burst into laughter as they joked around.

After an hour or so they reached a big mansion, befitting of a noble lord. They knocked on the elegant wooden door thrice before it got opened by a maid. She took them to a small room and were told to wait for a bit.

A short man wearing an expensive suit walked in with a small smile.

"We completed the mission, here is one of it's scales as proof."

The girl fished the deep purple scale out of her pouch and handed it over to the plumb middle aged man. Mr. Hana tentatively took the scale in his hand and after a minute of examining the object he nodded once and put a bag of money in front of the two visitors.

"Great work, I knew I could count on Fairy Tail wizards."

A thin golden bracelet jingled as the white haired girl stepped into the Fairy Tail guildhall. The letters K N M S were engraved on the bracelet.

"We're back!!"

The girl's companion yelled as they walked in, a huge grin on his face.

"Natsu! Mizuki!" Lucy waved from her seat at the bar "Welcome home!"

Mizuki flinched ever so slightly as the blonde referred to the guild as 'home'. It was her home at one time, a long time ago. But now, now she had another home. Nevertheless, she pulled a smile on her face and walked over to the blonde.

"One banana milkshake please." She smiled at Mirajane, who immediately went to work.

She took the seat next to blonde and smiled in appreciation as Mirajane set her milkshake in front of her. She immediately took a sip and sighed contently.

Mirajane's milkshakes were the best.

Her smile dropped however as she looked at her bracelet. It was all she had left from another place. Her home.

"So Mizuki" Lucy quickly changed subjects, noticing the sad look in her friend's eyes "How did the mission go?"

A grin broke out on the younger girl's face at the mention of her mission.

"Well that's a funny story. You'll never guess what trouble Natsu managed to get us into this time."

"Oh god what did he do?"

"Well, it all started when we came across some chickens. Natsu actually managed to-"

The girl stopped abruptly as a half naked Gray went flying past her.

"Ahem, as I was saying. The chickens-"

An irk mark appeared on the foreheads of the two friends as yet another person went flying past them.

Mizuki stood up, about to walk outside to avoid the fight, when Natsu knocked into her and caused her to fall flat on her ass.

"Oh sorry Mizuki, didn't see you there."

The girl almost cried as she saw her banana milkshake spilled on the ground.

A dark aura surrounded the girl as she slowly stood up. She cracked her knuckles and glared at Natsu, who slowly backed up.

She surrounded her fist with some water and promptly hit the guy in the jaw, sending him flying into some other guild members.

Soon, an all out brawl ensued in the guildhall. Mizuki laughed as she hit Gray in the stomach.

Good old Fairy Tail

Mizuki's pov:

"It's sooo hot."

Lucy whined as we trudged through a forest. Even the trees were unable to protect us from the warm Summer heat.

Today, I was on a mission with Natsu, Lucy and Wendy. I had done a lot of duo missions with Natsu lately, so going on a group mission was refreshing.

Our mission was to save some boy who is being held hostage by a dark guild named Lucifer's Nose. Odd name if you ask me.

We had already gotten the young boy, Takumi, back from the weakish guild and were now on our way back to his family.

Natsu currently carried the kid on his back as he walked next to Lucy, while I was chatting with Wendy.

I've always liked hanging with Wendy. Afterall, we were pretty similar. We were both dragon slayers who had a healing side to our powers and we were both a bit younger than the rest.

Behind us, Charle and Happy were bickering about some fish. They had been doing so for the past 30 minutes.

"Guys look!" Lucy pointed to a clearing "There's a lake! Let's take a dip to cool down."

I shrugged and ran towards the lake. I didn't bother changing my clothes and just dove into the cool water.

The others followed soon after, splashing about in the water.

I slowly swam around the lake, getting a weird sense of deja vu. The last time I went swimming with this specific group of people was right before I got sucked into another world.

I sighed as I thought about the people I unwillingly left behind. I imagined what they were doing at this time.

Naruto would be eating ramen, Kakashi would be reading one of his weird books and Sasuke would be training.

I wondered whether Naruto and Sasuke would still have this weird rivalry going on. Perhaps they had grown over it..... probably not.

Had they changed at all? Or would they still be the same?

I had changed since then, it had been over two and a half years now. I had grown a bit in several places and I became stronger. The first few months after my return I had focused all my energy on training. To get stronger.

Speaking about my return, I gave the guild members quite a shock when I appeared out of nowhere in the guildhall, bleeding heavily from a wound. Luckily, Wendy was present at the time and immediately went to work.

I waved at some curious fish as it swam closer, it swam around me a few times before deciding I wasn't interesting enough and swimming off.

An ominous feeling suddenly rooted itself in the pit of my stomach. Something was wrong.
I slowly turned around only to be blinded by light. Sleepiness overtook me and my eyes closed.

I groaned as I opened my eyes again. I sat up slowly and looked around me. I was in a clearing in the forest, one similar to the one I had been in with Natsu, Lucy and Wendy.

I was sitting in front of a slap of stone. My breathing hitched as I read the inscription.

Mizuki Hatake
A kind ninja beloved by all
Requiescat in pace

Well, uhm this was odd. It's not everyday that you wake up in front of your own gravestone.

Did I die? Am I dead?

Her eyes scanned the stone again. 'Mizuki Hatake' 'ninja'.

"What is it Kaka-"

I slowly turned my head into the direction of an all too familiar voice.

My green eyes widened as they met clear blue ones.
