Recap:

I groaned as I opened my eyes again. I sat up slowly and looked around me. I was in a clearing in the forest, one similar to the one I had been in with Natsu, Lucy and Wendy.

I was sitting in front of a slap of stone. My breathing hitched as I read the inscription.

Mizuki Hatake
A kind ninja beloved by all
Requiescat in pace

Well, uhm this was odd. It's not everyday that you wake up in front of your own gravestone.

Did I die? Am I dead?

Her eyes scanned the stone again. 'Mizuki Hatake' 'ninja'.

"What is it Kaka-"

I slowly turned my head into the direction of an all too familiar voice.

My green eyes widened as they met clear blue ones.

I'm home

~~~
Mizuki's pov:
My eyes were glassy with emotions as I slowly stood up, getting another good look at the blonde boy standing in front of me. There was no doubt about it, this had to be Naruto, my old teammate and friend.
"M-Mizuki?" He stuttered, shock etched on his face.
"Naruto?"
My voice seemed to shatter every doubt he had as he ran forwards and engulfed me into a tight embrace. My arms immediately circled around his back as our tears flowed freely. Naruto had grown quite a lot, his head now towering above me so my face was pressed into his chest.
"Mizuki"
I slowly pulled out of the embrace when I heard another familiar voice. I peered behind Naruto to see Kakashi, a bouquet of white roses dropped on the ground next to him. Though Naruto had grown and changed, Kakashi was still the same.
I muffled a cry as I ran into his outstretched arms, burrying my head into his chest. His arms encircled me instinctively. We stood there for a while, unmoving in our embrace.
After a few minutes we pulled apart. I wiped my eyes dry and turned to both Naruto and Kakashi.
"Can anyone explain why I have a tombstone?"
They exchanged a look before Kakashi answered.
"Well uhm funny story" he rubbed his neck awkwardly "but we uhm thought you had died that time when you disappeared."
My eyes widened in realization, those white roses, they had been for me. Or rather for my tombstone.
I pulled them both into a hug once again.
"I'm sorry."
Our emotional moment was ruined by the sound of a messenger hawk, summoning us, or well them, to the hokage.
"Let's go give the hokage a shock, shall we?" I grinned.
~~~

"Mizuki?!"

The glass Tsunade was holding shattered on the ground as her mouth dropped open.

"Hey there." I waved with a grin "I'm back."

"What? But how? You died."

"Yeah, I'd like to know what happened as well." Kakashi chimed in.

"Well at that time... when I supposedly died, there was this white light surrounding me, remember?" Naruto quickly nodded "well that light was most likely some kind of interdimensional gate. When I came to I was back in the dimension I was born in, I was on the verge of dying. Wendy, my friend, was luckily present and managed to heal my injuries."
