The Fairy's Return

Chapter 6

Mizuki's pov:

"Wake up"

I groaned and snuggled deeper into the blankets. Hmm they were nice and warm.

"Mizuki, time to get up."

"Noooo go away."

I heard a chuckle before my blankets were suddenly pulled away. My eyes flew open at the sudden cold before narrowing into slits as I glared at an amused Kakashi.

"I hate you."

"Sure you do." Kakashi chuckled. "Anyway we heard some news about Gaara's whereabouts and we're gonna move out in half an hour."

I nodded and quickly ran into the bathroom, determined to take a quick shower before we set off. With a flick of my wrist I removed all the water from my hair before pulling it into a ponytail and scrambled around to get dressed and pack my stuff.

After exactly 30 minutes I skidded to where Naruto and Kakashi were already waiting for me.

"All right, as soon as the Sand is ready, we'll join them for Gaara's rescue." Kakashi explained.

"Sorry to keep you waiting."

Temari and four other sand ninja walked up to us.

"Yes let's head out then!"

"Wait" a new sand ninja arrived "Temari, you and the others are to stay here and patrol the border. It's an order from above."

I pouted, I was looking forward to spending some more time with Temari.

"I will go!" Lady Chio stood on top of some tall building "The only sand ninja you need is... me! I'm retired and can do whatever I want."

My jaw dropped as the old lady fell off the building, managing to somehow land on her feet in front of us.

"I haven't doted on my dear grandchild for a while, after all..."

"Everybody halt!"

The four of us skidded to a halt in the clearing of a small forest. My eyes widened in shock. Standing in the middle of the clearing was Itachi Uchiha. I let out a small gasp as his eyes drifted to me. His blazing red eyes seemed to be able to see right through me.

"It's been a while Kakakshi, Naruto and...Mizuki"

"You bastard" Naruto took a step forwards "Not just me but Gaara too! I will destroy you guys."

My eyes flickered between Naruto and Itachi nervously. This wasn't good.

My body tensed as Itachi slowly raised his hand. I may have trained a lot these past few years and have gotten much stronger and faster but I had no doubt that I was no match for Itachi.

"Don't look into his eyes!" Kakashi said. "He's a genjutsu user. You'll get caught if you look into his eyes. As long as we don't make eye contact we should be fine."

My eyes immediately dropped down to Itachi's feet. I bit my lip anxiously.

"We have the advantage of numbers, if one of them will distract him. The rest of us will constantly attack him from the back where the Sharingan can't see." Lady Chiyo explained.

"No" Kakashi interrupted "That would work if it's an ordinary genjutsu but it's more complicated in his case. He uses the Mangekyo Sharingan which is much stronger than the ordinary Sharingan. Time can be manipulated within his genjutsu. In my case, I roamed around in his jutsu for three days and lost consciousness for more than a week. It's not a matter of ending or not ending the genjutsu."
