A few days later, Elsa was informed of her parents tragic death.

They never made it across the sea to Corona and were caught in a storm that snak their ship, killing everybody on board.

Elsa watched from her window as the Bishop spoke over a megaphone across the castle. "In the name of our King and Queen lost at sea, Arendelle shall honour their ways until our young Queen comes of age. May they rest in peace."

Instead of but instead of comforting her sister and crying together, she cried alone in her room. Once again, she was leant against her door, her powers unleashing as snow fell around her, sending a cold shiver through her body.

There had been no sign of Pitch or Jack since the day her parents left. They had gone and left her, just like she had asked them too. She thought that maybe she had done something to deserve this, that this was her way of being punished for not being able to control her powers. The more she thought about it, the harder she cried and the harder the snow fell.

Elsa had to face the fact that when she reached the age of 21, she would be crowned queen of Arendelle, but until then, she had to keep her promise to her father, make him proud and continue to learn how to hide her powers.

Anna stood on the opposite side of the door, her palm pressed against the wood. It felt cold to touh but Anna hardly noticed as she was overcome with grief. Not only had she lost her parents, she also felt as though she had lost her sister too.

"Elsa please, I know you're in there" Anna sounded empty and lost, "people are asking where you've been. The say have courage, and I'm trying too, I'm right out here for you... We could go for a walk? Or maybe we could just sit and talk? Please, Elsa, just let me in."

Elsa's head leaned back against the door as she listened to her sisters' sad words, wishing more than anything that she could open the door and embrace her.

"We only have each other, it's just you and me"

As Anna carried on, Elsa closed her eyes, tears spilling from them, down her cheeks. She tried hard to muffle her cries in order to not let Anna hear her.

Jack hovered gently by the window, in the absence of Pitch he felt almost something for Elsa and her pain, it was almost sympathy. Normal he felt a satisfaction from seeing the girl so afraid, but this time it was different. He watched as her sister whispered through the door "what are we going to do?"

He did feel sorry for her.

"Do you want to build a snowman?" Anna whispered and slid down the door on the opposite side, mimicking her sister with her head resting on her knees and she began to cry.

Jack continued to watch the girl, this feeling of sympathy overwhelming his entire being. What was wrong with him? Did he actually feel sorry for Elsa?

When he first rose from the pond and picked up that staff, he had no clue why he was here or what his purpose was. He had felt just as lost as Elsa probably did in that moment.

The man in the moon had just pulled him from the depths and for what? To be ignored and feared by children forever? Up until then, that's what he thought, but as he looked at Elsa, he began think that maybe he had been put here for another reason.

If he was destined to be a cold-hearted, evil force of darkness alongside Pitch Black, then why did his heart feel heavy when watching Elsa cry. Why did he enjoy seeing her happy, watching her learn to love her powers? Why did he know that Elsa was right about the fear in his eyes?

At the moment, I hit him. Jack leaned against his staff, contemplating his discovery that perhaps he wasn't here to torture this girl, perhaps he was here to protect her, to help her grow and discover how to love her powers and use them sensibly. After all, it had been him ho had encouraged her to use them one time when Pitch wasn't around, and he had seen how much she had enjoyed it.
