Alice POV:

I looked at him as though I didn't believe him.

"I'm serious Alice." He said. "I'll be here for you. I promise didn't I? that I wouldn't leave you." His hand gripped my hand tighter as I turned my hand around to hold his hand in mines.

"Thank you." I said. I gripped his hand back and smiled a small smile to show that I felt okay. Class began and I let go of his hand but Axel held my hand tightly. I looked at him as he let go.

"I'll eat by you during lunch." He said as he listened to the class with the rest of everybody. I looked ahead.

"Okay. Everybody. We are going to have midterms in two weeks to see if you remember anything. Your results of your ranking in this school is out now. Please check after this class." Leon said, as he picked up all his pencils and pulled his dark rimmed glasses off his face. (Leon is in the third chapter)

My hands balled up into fists as I felt my eyes burn.

"My ranking.. I need to... Have a good grade.." I looked around the room and saw Nikki. She laid in the arms of a guy who I didn't remember. Her hair was longer and her skin got a bit more tanner. I looked at her closer and saw that she was a bit chubby now. "Good. She looks even and not skinny all day.." I thought.  I turned and saw Axel's eyes narrowed a bit and looking at me. I looked at him, trying to copy him.

I squinted my eyes tightly together as I pinched my lips a bit together. I did so until Axel laughed and punched my head a bit.

"What are you doing?!" He laughed, his chest heaving up and down as he was trying to find his breath. I felt my cheeks redden.

"..I was copying you.." I said. He looked at me.

"I did not look like that." Axel said as he pouted. I scrunched up my face as I knitted my brows together.

"Yes you did." I said in monotone with the face I saw on him.

"I don't look like that." Axel said, his voice louder.

"Ah-hem." A voice said in front of us. I turned my head as I saw Axel did the same.

"Um.. Mr. Leon.." I whimpered. "We were-"

"Leon. Don't mind us." Axel said. "We were having a conversation-" His eyes narrowed at Leon differently from what he did to me, almost like he was conveying something to Leon. "So please excuse us." Axel's head tilted a bit. Leon coughed a ragged cough as he took off his glasses. He wiped them on the bottom of his shirt.

"Well.. Prince Axel." He began. "Try to keep the chatter lower." He smiled as he glanced at me. I looked at him, face disturbed.  I grabbed Leon's arm. He turned to me. "Yes.. Princess Alice?"

"Princess!- Um.."I gulped. "I'm sorry  for disrupting class..." I said, eyes looking at him. His eyes widened as it narrowed at me.

"No. It's my fault. I should've known that a student would say sorry to me for the first time in my life.." He looked at me. "Who are your parents?" He asked. "Where are they?"

"Oh.. Um.. My dad's not here but my mum is. Their names are Angelica and Aric Raymond." I said. Leon got silent as he continued to look at me.

"I see. I do see your father's looks in you. As well as your mother's." Leon said. He turned.

"Um.." I said. "Did you know them?" I asked, curious. Leon glanced at me from the corner of his eyes.

"Yes. yes I did. Your father was top student. Higher than Axel's father, the king. He was to be the king's advisor but your father said no. He wanted a simple life with your mother." Leon looked away. "I shall tell the king that I have found Aric's daughter. He is indebted to your father. Your father  saved his life. And because he said his life, he was able to have a son like Axel. Maybe.. It's like fate. Do you believe in fate Alice? Axel?" He walked down back to the front of the class.

He coughed and cleared his throat.

"Class. I finally have a challenge. Please write down your answer and return it to me tomorrow. The challenge is, do you believe in fate. Please tell me why." He said as the bell rang. "Class dismissed." He said as I met eyes with him.

"Do you believe in fate Alice?" His voice echoed in my head as his serious eyes behind the black rimmed glasses pierced me.
