Alice POV:
I looked at him as I could not believe my ears.
"W-what?" I asked, voice shaking a bit as Axel's voice popped up in my head.
"I said don't go near Axel." Victor said. His hand slipped into mines as I felt a huge difference in their warmth's. Victor's was warm, yes, but.. It felt distant.
"Why Victor?" I asked. "Why can't I go near Axel? Victor- I don't understand-"
"Do you feel sorry for me?" Victor asked. I felt my ears turn pink. "If you do, don't go near Axel... You're mine remember?" I looked up at Victor as I felt my eyes burn. I looked down as his hand touched my cheek. I nodded, pain spreading all over my chest. Victor lifted my chin as his soft lips touched my lips. My chest throbbed as I wanted to tear my body away from his kisses. They were farther. They.. They were not like how it was when we had our first kiss together on the terrace. They were distant.
The next day, I sat in class as Victor sat besides me. I looked up as I watched Axel come in the room. His eyes met mines as I tore my gaze away. I thought I heard him grit his teeth together. I sat in silence as I felt someone shadow me from the warm sun. I looked up. I met eyes with Axel. I tore my eyes away.
"What do you need Axel?" I asked, not facing him.
"Why are you avoiding me?" Axel asked.
"I'm not-"
"Then look at me." I looked at him as I etched every detail of him in my mind. His black hair spiked up with his gel. His iced slated colored eyes tearing at my guilt. His tanned skin as his chest muscles looked like they were going to rip his shirt. His collarbone popping as it popped at me. "Look at me fully Alice." I felt my eyes soften as I looked at him a bit pained.
"I.. am.." I said as I met his eyes. I heard Axel sigh.
"Whatever... Do what you want. After all.. I was just supporting you while HE was gone." Axel said as he turned.
"If supporting means kissing, you were doing your job?" Victor's voice said behind me. Axel looked back as he met eyes with Victor.
"Yeah." Axel said. "That's right." His voice deepened. "I did my job by supporting her and I loved her. I did my job to protect her." Axel said. He turned.
"Well you did a lousy job." Victor said. "I hope you'll stop supporting her now that I'M here?" Axel stopped and there was silence.
"Yeah.." Axel said as he grabbed his seat. His seat gritted against the tile floors as Leon came in.
"Be quiet." Leon said. "I have some people that are flunking. They are being kicked out today." Leon said. Everyone shifted in their seats as they went through another trouble. From hearing two boys bitching to hearing that they may be kicked out and flung into poverty.
Leon cleared his throat.
"Okay!" He shouted. "If I call your name, please pack up and go get your things. You are kicked out." Everyone got silent. "Cherry Marble-" a chair scraped the floor. "James Bond. Van Moon. Karry Hearts. Katie Marrly. Tristan Jubulie. Aric Lowly. Hank Tobbs. Julie Tobbs. Ruby Chain." One by one, chairs scraped the floor. I watched as Hank and Julie clung together. They looked at their older triplet brother, Jun, as I watched him grit his teeth. He was the only one that could keep their family out of poverty now. Continuing, Leon said, "Finally.." Leon looked at a certain person. My eyes tried to trail where they were going. "Nikki Hanks-" I stood up as everyone looked at me. "Sit down miss Alice. I said Nikki. Not you." Nikki's chair scraped against the floor as i banged my hand on the table. "Miss Alice." Leon's voice was rising.
"Alice. Calm your pants. I have something to tell you after this class. Meet me in your dorm." Nikki said as she gathered up her notebooks and left. I watched her silhouette disappear from the bright classroom. I felt Victor's hand slide to my waist as it gripped me. I slowly sat down as I looked around the classroom. Out of 26, over 19 went home. Only 7 of us remained.
"Is the school this hard...?" I thought as I felt a headache coming. Victor's arm slid around me as my head laid against him.
"Are you okay?" Victor asked, his arm wrapping me. I shrugged his arms off as I nodded warily.
"I'm fine." I said as the bell rang. I stood up quickly as I gathered my things and shoved it in my bag. I ran to the dorms as I dashed harder to my room. I slammed the door open as i saw Nikki sitting on my bed. "What did you need to tell me?" I asked, panting deeply.
"That night... at the ball-" my ears jerked towards her. "I'm sorry. I was planning to kill you so that i could have Axel."
"Why?" I cried, trying to process it. "Why do that Nikki-"
"Because I hate you." My mouth shut close as I felt my eyes burn.
"..Hate me..?" What for?" I asked. "I did nothing. I tried to be friends with you-"
"Friends don't lie to each other and hug their friend's first crush. Friends introduce guys to one another. Friends do everything together-"
"Friends don't lie..." I laughed. Nikki looked at me confused.
"Do you even know why I'm leaving?" Nikki asked. I looked at her.
"Because you're a bitch." I said. Nikki's face reddened as I heard her growl at me.
"Because I can't stand seeing you anymore. First you're with Prince Axel. Then you go and date the son of a duke, Victor. He leaves because of what I did. Then when he comes back, he sees you kissing the same guy that you hated at first." Nikki met my eyes. "You're nothing. Nothing Alice. You're just a scum in their life that disrupted everything. You ruin EVERYTHING." Nikki's voice echoed in my head as I curled my fists.
"And what about you?" I said. My eyes felt like they welded tears. My ears felt burning and my eyes felt like it was about to shoot bullets. I glared at her. "You're nothing but a slut that lets single men touch her. What are you? A PROSTETUTE?" I stomped over to her as I heard her lose her breath. I grabbed her collar as I lifted her off my bed. "You're nothing. You're worse than me. You can't even get the highest men of all. You're just getting court men. You're not just getting that. Do you even know what girls are calling you?" I stared deeper into her eyes. "You're called 'Dung that does nothing but have sex in mid-air'." I heard her breath disappear completely. "So stop trying to ruin my life and have your own life. I'm tired of you. I'm tired that you take up the air that I need. You.. You are nothing in this life." I threw her against my bed as she hit her back on the wall. I shook my head at her. "Nothing." I grabbed my bag and opened the door. I turned back to her halfway. "If you understand.. Get out of my life by the time I come back." I walked out the door as my eyes stung with tears that finally began to fall.
I walked out the building as I passed a tree and laid my back against it. Tears fell like crazy as I felt my heart break. My palms held my head as I heard someone behind me. I looked and saw Victor. Victor grabbed me and pulled me into a hug as I gripped his back, crying my heart out. Victor's hand patted my head as I clung loosely to him. I didn't want him comforting me. His hugs were different now. Everything was different with him. Everything was.. Distant...
