Alice POV:
The next day, I went straight into class before anybody had done and went to Leon.
"Um.. Leon sir.." I said. He turned around to me, apparently startled. "Oh.. Um.. Sorry to scare you.." I muttered, eyes glued to the floor.
"What is it you need to be an hour earlier than everybody?" Leon asked. I looked up at him.
"..What.. what is fate?" I asked.
"Are you saying you haven't done your challenge homework?" He asked. I hesitated. Then I nodded.
"I don't know what fate is. Let alone believe in it.." I said.
"Well.." Leon said. "It depends what you think it is. What do you think fate is to you?" Leon asked. I looked at my hands.
"My definition of.. fate?" I asked. Leon nodded. I thought about it. What he had discussed.
"Have you come to a decision?" Leon asked. I nodded, confused a bit.
"Well.. I don't know how to explain it.. But its like.. those.. Those who believe.. and things would happen based on their decisions.."
"Exactly." Leon said. I looked at him confused.
"What.. What do you mean?"
"Exactly what you said." Leon said. "If your father had decided to become the king's advisor, you wouldn't have been here. And if your father hadn't married your mother, I'd probably have taken her." I looked confused. "Your mother's still here right? Let me have a chat with her."
"You liked my mum?!" I cried.
"Still do." Leon said proudly. "But anyways. Do you believe in fate Alice?" I looked at him straight on. I gulped.
"I think I do."
"And why's that?"
"If.. If it weren't fate, I wouldn't be here at this school. I wouldn't have learned what fate is.. I wouldn't have learned anything about my mum and dad's life here. Fate.. I think IT is REAL." I said.
"Good. I guess you came to a conclusion." Leon said. "Now go. I've given a message to the king about you. He shall be here soon. Maybe in two days or something. It's up to him."
*Time skip*
I went to the girl's bathroom as I sat on the toilet. I sighed as I laid my head on the bathroom stall.
"I miss.. Everything.." I thought as I remembered my life before I came to the school. I shook my head. I stood up. "No.. If I hadn't come to this school.. I wouldn't have had the courage to change.. Although.. It's been nearly a year.." SPLASH! I looked up to see a bucket disappear. I heard the laughter from the girls disappear from the bathroom as I stood, drenched.
"Stay away from Axel wrench. He's ours." A voice I didn't know. "Should be away. You're only a first year."
"Oh.. Must be a second year or third year.. Let alone a fourth year.. But what kind of person would..." I pulled my hair tie off my head as I let my soaking hair drip down my back. My white shirt was drenched to my skin as my pale skin stuck against the shirt. My spaghetti black tank showed.
"Oh well. It's just a tank top." I said. I opened the door and walked out the bathroom. I marched through the hallway as the boys stopped what they were doing and stared. I continued to walk, a bit embarrassed now. My body stopped as I was jerked backwards.
My head thumped against something hard as I looked up. I looked up to see Axel. His face looked a bit flushed. I lifted my hand to his head, checking his temperature.
" I don't feel a big temperature.. do you have a cold-"
"Idiot!" He screamed, loud enough for only me to hear. I looked at him.
"What!?"
"You're only in a wet shirt with your tank obviously exposed. It's totally fine-NOT!" He let go off me as he took off his sweater. He tugged it on me as he had me put my arms inside the sleeves. "What happened?" He asked, regular voice.
"Nothing. Just told to stop something. I don't remember what they said." I said, trying to remember really hard.
"Right. But. I think I know what's going on." Axel said. He eyes looked deep into mines. B-THUMP! B-THUMP! B-THUMP!
"Huh?!" I thought, confused.
"Wh-what's going on?" I asked, trying to show that I was not flustered.
"I think.. The person and the one that just did this to you.. I think they are different people."
"What makes you think that?" I asked.
"Well think about it." He said.
"So Victor went home like what.. 2 weeks ago right?" I nodded. "So.. If they were going to do a childish thing like this, it's obviously not the one that did a stunt like dropping the chandelier." I nodded.
"That's true." I said. "The one that did this to me were a group of girls." I grabbed his hand.
"Leave me alone today." I said.
"But-"
"Please." I begged. I didn't want him to know I was going to wander around the school, hoping to hear the voices from the bathroom. PANG! A guilty feeling filled my chest.
"What is this..?" I thought as I felt guilty.
"Okay. Fine." He said. "But bring this with you." He took off his necklace. It was a silver chain with a ring on it. He gave it to me.
"Why?"
"It's.. Like my good luck charm. Just wear it. And don't lose it... this belonged to my mom." My hands drove itself to Axel's chest. He coughed.
"I can't take it. It's too precious to you."
"Next time.." He said. "Just say something.. You're always hitting me somewhere..." He coughed as he rubbed his chest.
"Axel. I can't take it. Take it back-"
"I gave it to you because I trust you with it. I want you to wear it. It's a reminder that my mom has protection over you also.... Plus... This is the first time I wanted to entrust this to someone.. so it's a big thing to me.." He said. He took my hand and wrapped the necklace in my hand. He folded his hand over mines. His beautiful eyes glanced at me softly as I felt my chest beat faster. I felt my face flush.
"You should've gave it to me when I looked nicer. I look like crap right now." I said as I felt embarrassed by how drenched I looked. My body jolted at the touch of Axel when he touched my cheek.
"You're always looking nice." He said. "But right now.. I think you need a shower.. That water.. It smells a bit dirty.." I looked shocked.
"Wow.." I screamed in his ear. "It's not my fault that I'm getting hit with dirty water that your fans threw." I marched off, body feeling warm and I felt my palm sweat as the necklace remained in the middle of my palm.
