Chapter 2 Eloquence

Flashback: Jimin

"I don't think doing everything for your sister is good for her." Amy said as we walk inside the library.

"The Origin of Species... should I look under T or O?" I asked her instead.

"It's under O... are you listening to me?" Amy waved her hand in front of me.

I've heard her but it's one of the things that I hated about her. She gets too preachy most of the time.

"I am... what can I do? the last time she went here, she froze when the student assistant talked to her. She spent the day in her room. She said she doesn't want to read via computer, too. So here I am, being a good brother." I said as he took out the book from the shelf.

A couple of girls were giggling, the moment I turned to their direction I knew it was a mistake. It was Seulgi, the girl I just confessed to.

Partly because Amy told me to.

I looked at them and one of the girls she's with pointed at me. I could see Seulgi's disgusted face, almost hatred, as she looks at me.

I stood there frozen. It was a absolute torture to be laughed upon.

"Just saying maybe you should push her to meet new people. Encourage her. Not give in." She sighed.

When Amy sees that I stood there stumped, she looked at where I was looking. By then, Seulgi's gang already were unto a new topic and was giggling.

"What can I expect... you won't even talk to to Seulgi." She said as she took another book from Jinri's list.

"I did..."

...and it was an utter humiliation.

But I didn't say that. Amy would have confronted Seulgi if she knew. I'll be even more embarassed.

I took the books from her arms instead and went to the librarian to have them checked out.

As we are walking, Amy pryed my hands from the bag and carried the other handle.

"I can carry this alone, Amy." I told her. I knew she was just trying to get my attention.

"I know. But sometimes, even if you can carry something light for so long, it can tire you. It's better to share the load." Amy smiled.

This is why we became friends. Amy has a knack for guilting me into confessing my problems to her. She loves to listen and offer advices.

Most of it, usually end up badly. Like my confession to Seulgi.

Just the same, the attention she's giving me is almost euphoric. She's the only one who would look at me like I'm important.

Like everything I say is important.

Like she wanted me to know I am important.

"What did Seulgi say..." Amy asks.

"That I'm a fat lard and that I should be ashame of even confessing to her." I said as I smile bitterly.

"She really said that?" She said fumming.

"Don't worry, it's okay. Don't ask her about it. I'm not mad at her." I said to her faking a smile.
