Thud...

Thud...

Thud...

"Jimin... Jimin... please wake up..."

My consciousness suddenly went back... I didn't know if I was still dreaming. Somebody was throwing stones at my window.

"Jimin... please... Jimin... wake up."

A series of noises again. I got up.

I opened the lights in my room and looked outside.

"Amy?"

"Jimin... can I come in? Please?"

It was one in the morning when I looked at the clock. Caught between sleep and wake state, I looked outside again to check if I'm not dreaming. She's was there wearing her large tshirt she uses to sleep... and has been walking barefeet.

"Wait...wait... I'll be down in a minute."

I immediately run down the stairs and open the door.

"What happened?"

She didn't say anything but hugged me tight instead. My shoulders began to damp, she was crying.

I hesitated awhile before I hugged her back. She cried louder.

"Let's come inside, it's cold out here." I told her.

After I gave Amy a set of clean clothes and slippers, as asked her to take a shower first, her feet was full of mud. When she came out, she still looks shaken.

"Amy... what happened?"

She didn't answer. It's as if she didn't heard me. I didn't pry anymore. It was always the case with her. I will notice her unhappiness but she will not tell me why.

She's concerned with my worries but will never tell me hers. She's happy to offer advises but will shun me the moment she needs one.

I wanted to tell her it's unfair. It's unfair to make me feel uneasy. To make me feel useless.

To make me feel heartbroken at staring at someone you love without knowing what to do to make her feel alright.

To stand there. Just like a deer caught in a headlights.

"Wait... I'll wake up Jinri. Maybe you could sleep with her."

"... can we sleep in your room instead? I'll wake up early. I don't want her asking questions."

"Okay..."

Amy lay down in my bed and pushed herself into the corner. I pulled out a blanket and laid it on the floor.

"Jimin..."

"Yup..."

"If I ran away from home. Would you look for me?"

"Amy, just tell me what happened."

No answer. Just whimpers. I made her cry again. I wished she knew that she's like an assasin that shreds my heart into pieces everytime she does this.

I got up and sat on the bed. I caressed her hair.

"I won't ask questions anymore. Stop crying. Just try to sleep okay?"
