Kira's POV

"W-Wife?" I stuttered. "My Lord, I've--" Trevor shook his head. "Do you insist on calling me that Kira?" He asked. I nodded slowly. "My apologies, but I don't know what else to call you." After a moment, Trevor sighed. "Alright. Please, coninue."

I nodded stiffly. "I've only just come back, and I don't I, personally, am ready for such a big leap in a relationship. It truly is an honor, My Lord, please do not misunderstand! It's just that I believe there is someone else here that is better suited for than I am."

Trevor gazed at me. "Really? And who do you think that may be? Arika?" He teased, chuckling. "No, Kira. I believe you are the best of the women here. Besides! I can offer you the best protection! Together, we can take over the Academy, and teach all those Meisters and Weapons a lesson! The Reapers, too. And, after the Academy, comes the whole world."

I felt my stomach drop, and said nothing. "Alright. One generous at a time, I see. Kira, would you be my adviser?" He asked calmly, leaning forward as if anxious for my reply. I bowed and replied, "Gladly, My Lord."

I was excused, and numbly made my way through the maze by the escort of a guard. Arika was waiting outside the maze, and I joined her, shocked and stiff.

"Kira? What's wrong with you? What did he say?" She asked, putting a hand on my shoulder. "He asked me to be his adviser." I replied quietly. Arika's eyes twinkled, and any passersby would believe she was merely happy for her Opposite. "And you said?" I nodded. "I told him yes."

Arika cheered. "That's wonderful! But why are you so stiff and quiet?" I shook my head. "I have to tell you in our room. Just be patient, please." I begged. She nodded, and the rest of our journey was quiet.

We made it to our room in record time, though it didn't seem like we were moving very fast. I walked into my room, and Arika shut the door and locked it. She turned on the light, and we both made sure no one was in the room before I spoke.

I sat down on the bed, my knuckles white. "He said he wanted to get to know me," I said, "So I could be his wife." My voice was frail and weak. Arika gasped. "You didn't accept did you?" I shook my head. "Of course not! I told him that I felt I wasn't prepared for it, and that there must be someone else in the organization better suited for the position than me. He didn't think so." I chuckled nervously. "He was very persistant, let me tell you that."

Arika and I sat in silence for a while. Finally, I reached into my pocket and pulled out the mirror, drawing the familiar number on it. "I've got to tell them." I whispered. "Please make sure no one can hear us from outside." I asked. She left, shut the door, and then returned. "Can't hear a thing from in here. I nodded, and looked to the mirror, walking into the bathroom in spite of what she said.

Lord Death waved from the clear image. "Kira! It's so nice to hear from you so soon! We were getting a bit anxious, that's for sure! How's it going?" He asked. I nodded. "Eh. I'm the leader's adviser now, so I'm going to be able to be able to get all of their military tactics and strategies." Lord Death laughed. "Perfect!" I nodded.

"Lord Death? Is Tyler there?" I asked calmly. Lord Death nodded and stepped out of the way, Tyler taking his place. "Hey. Nice job with the adviser thing. What's up?" I swallowed harshly. "Tyler, I've got some bad news for you." I said. Tyler frowned. "What? What is it?" I took a moment to think how I was going to word this. "The leader..." I started. Tyler looked at me, as if encouraging me to continue.

I sighed. "The leader is your twin brother, Trevor."

Tyler's face flushed immediately. "What?" He gaped. I nodded. "Is Soul there? I need to talk to him, too. Actually, you all need to hear this." Tyler, after having processed, nodded, and Soul, Tyler, and Lord Death were all part of the image. Soul waved, smiling happily, and it broke my heart that I had to tell him this, even though I'd rejected Trevor.
