Kira's POV
Two and a half weeks passed with Arika and I training, and her keeping me so busy I didn't have time to blink. It was almost as if she knew what had happened between Justin and I, and she was simply trying to get my mind off of it and back in the game. We were here for a reason.
With three days until Arika and I left on our "mission", we squeezed in as much training as we could. I believed I showered over one-hundred times in Arachnis, and I couldn't tell if that meant I was being over worked or if I just liked to be clean.
I'd started a countdown. Now, there were two days. Every night, I'd given Lord Death, Tyler, and now even Spirit reports on the building. The roof was metal, we weren't sure what kind. The boarding rooms were on the left, the training rooms on the right. The dining hall was the body, and the head was a golden maze. We couldn't give the map details to them while in Arachnis; we would do fishy things, but giving directions to find and kill the leader of a psychotic organization while in their headquarters simply wasn't smart.
Trevor had advised the day before that we spend today resting. We took full advantage of that by wearing shorts and tanktops and doing nothing but read. It was a nice change.
Breakfast and lunch were delivered straight to our room by Trevor's servants, and no one was allowed entrance to our room but his servants. He even forbid himself from entering the room.
I wasn't sure if he was trying to prepare us for a dangerous mission or if he was trying to suck up and show us that, if we died, we would know our leader loved us.
The latter was much more likely.
I sucked on a popsicle quietly while reading a book. I glanced at the title page, and saw that the book was "The Fault In Our Stars".

Cue fangirling!

Huh. Had I really gone through the book without reading even a word? I was halfway through it! I didn't even know what the book was about!
I sighed, feeling restless and antsy. I just wanted to get on my feet and move, but Arika and I were pretty much locked in here. We had no choice but to stay here. The most we could do was pace, and that simply wasn't enough.
What could I substitute this with?
I shook my head, because I started to feel a bit homesick. I missed the Academy, and wanted nothing more than to return. I missed the white stone steps, the rows of houses, the stores, the cobblestone roads, the basketball court, the gentle lights and swaying breezes.
But, really, I just missed Soul. He hadn't jumped into daily reports since our fight, if that's what you'd call it. I wasn't sure whether to feel horrible or to just forget about him, so I did neither. I felt nostalgic and all I did was think about him.
Did he really hate me? Had Tyler not told him that I wasn't going to accept Trevor's offer? That would explain why he hasn't talked to me since then.
But I truly couldn't stand it. I had nightmares that he'd leave me alone, leave me for dead, and wouldn't care. Arika told me she couldn't count on her two hands and feet how many times she had to wake me up in a week, and she eventually made me take Benadryl to force me into a dreamless sleep.
Even then, when I woke, the first thing I felt was his skin against him, the first thing I heard was his voice, the first thing I smelled was his cologne and sweat, and the first thing I saw was his gorgeous crimson eyes.
"Kira!"
I shook my head, snapping to attention. "What?" I asked, slightly annoyed. Arika scoffed. "I've been calling you for five minutes! Where were you, a different solar system!" She joked.
