Sirius bounded down the platform with the eagerness of a child entering a sweet shop, except this sweet shop was Platform 9 3/4. The weight of the burden of his family had finally been lifted and upon returning to Hogwarts Sirius was finally free."Sirius!" James shouted, tearing away from his parents and pushing through the crowd towards his best friend.
"James!" Sirius exclaimed, dashing towards his best friend.
The two collided into a rather violent embrace, laughing and shouting before they stood back, still grinning at each other."Good Christmas? You didn't visit and barely even wrote!" James stomped his foot dramatically.
"Christmas itself was terrible as always. You know full well why I didn't write." Sirius rolled his eyes and walked towards the train, hoping the topic of conversation would be dropped.
"Normally your parents are fine with you writing to me...?" James frowned, following after Sirius.
"Not after the stunt I pulled at the family meal."James almost choked, suddenly remembering why he'd be so desperate for Sirius to write to him.
"What happened? Did you and Asteria actually go through with everything? Were your parents annoyed? What was her family like? Did she mention Lily?"
Sirius opened the door to the carriage and before stepping up onto the train, turned to face James "It was... Eventful." He admitted.
"Eventful? I need details!" James shook Sirius as they walked down the carriage.
"Well my parents hate me even more... I'm also pretty sure my family members might be about to kill each other." Sirius explained nonchalantly, "Where's Moony and Peter?"Asteria sat in her usual compartment, her legs crossed on the seat with a book in one hand and a cauldron cake in the other. Lily say across from her, rifling through her bag for the sheets of work she'd done at home over the holidays.
"I've done so much revision. It's ridiculous, but now I know I'm so prepared to smash these exams." Lily stated proudly, holding out a rather large stack of parchment covered in revision notes.
"Still haven't managed to help me with Potions though." Asteria pointed out, an unimpressed expression on her face."I'll help you with your Potions and you can help me with Transfiguration." Lily suggested.
"Transfiguration?"
"Yeah, you're great at it." She nodded.
"I'm not as good as you at anything." Asteria scoffed."Quidditch?" Lily raised an eyebrow.
"Okay, one thing." Asteria corrected herself. The train journey had barely even began before a knock arrived on the compartment door. The two girls looked up to see a rather sheepish looking Sirius Black stood on the other side of the glass.
Lily turned to look at Asteria but she'd already gestured for him to step inside.
