I was still trembling when I heard the shouting. "Autumn! Autumn where are you?" I sat up holding my head and stood, dazed. I looked around before limping towards the voices.

"Hello?" I called, surprised at how calm my voice sounded.

:Hey.: I turned and searched for the source of the call. :Hey calm down. It's okay. You don't have to cry anymore.:
"Umm... I'm fine, but who are you?" I ask cautiously.

A shadow steps out from the darkness. "Hey, you shouldn't run off without your group of friends. I can tell they're worried."

I step back and the shadow steps forward. That's when I realize that it's only a shadow, where was the person it's supposed to be attached to?

I glance around uneasily. I could hear my friends getting closer now. "Where are you?" I called out to the shadow. It just steps closer. Again, I stepped back but this time, I trip over my injured foot and started to fall. I look back to see where I would land, but where it was at least 100 feet down.

At least there's water at the bottom. My eyes closed and I let the rushing wind tangle my hair as the ponytail holder flew out and I felt a surge of adrenaline coursing throughout my body.

It felt amazing until I realized I didn't want to die. But when I looked up, it was too late for me to do anything.
What if this is just another illusion? It would be over soon, so I just let myself fall.

My arms outstretched, I stared at the starry night sky.
Then I felt a smooth hand wrap around my own and I was lifted up. "Hmm." I said "It's about time."

I smiled up at Sophie as she pulled me over the side of the cliff towards the boys. Sophie had this strange power where she could fly, and/or levitate objects with just a thought.

The strange part about it was when she used her power, she started to glow a soft purple. But if she overworked it, she'd turn blue.

As we landed, I said I was okay to the guys, and that, no, a vision did not make me jump a cliff.

It was quiet after that. As I tried to look for the shadow that was here a few minutes before without drawing suspicion, Nathan eyed me curiously.

I already knew what caused the visions tonight. I hadn't used my gift in 5 straight years. Then all of a sudden, I start pushing my brain to send communication waves to a brain that's been using its gift almost every day.

This was my brains way of telling me 2 things: Ha ha! Payback! And, hey Autumn, take it slow.

As I scanned the tree line for the shadow, I realized this is the perfect camouflage for it. At night, there is no light, so there can't be a shadow.

I thought for a moment. Then how did I see it earlier? My thoughts were interrupted though, when I noticed Howl was tapping his foot ferociously, getting restless and Nathan looked somewhat uncomfortable standing that close. He was bordering on annoyed.

I frowned, thinking. Then I got it! "Howl, Nathan." They both looked up. "We should have a race. I was thinking..." "Where are we supposed to be racing to? We haven't set up camp yet." I scowled at Nathan, who seems pleased he cut me off in the middle of my sentence.

"I was going to say, the three of us should go through the forest and look for a place to rest tonight." I paused to glance down at my watch.

"Since Sophie doesn't feel like racing, she can watch. It's 11:35 right now, so we have 25 minutes to find shelter for the night."

Howl and Nathan were nodding. Howl was sending Nathan a competitive smirk and Nathan was grinning openly. "Where's the starting line?" Nathan questions.

I smiled and and limped over to the tree line. Seeing my limp, Nathan drew his eyebrows together in worry and stopped me. "Are you sure you want to race with your injury?" He questioned.
Howl looks at me and I look at Howl. Not wanting to embarrass Nathan, I hold in my laugh. "Yeah. Fun Fact: I don't allow injuries to get in the way of a good race."

He seemed to consider my small speech before nodding. We all line up on the tree line. Sophie took her place in front of us and raised her hand. "Ready?"
We all tensed and got into position. As she lifted into the air, she started glowing a faint lavender. When she dropped her hand she yelled, "Go!"

I took off ignoring the sore throbbing in my foot. In my peripheral, I noticed Sophie soaring above, making sure I was okay. I raised a thumbs up in hopes she'll leave me alone. Luckily she took the hint. There was another part of my gift that I did allow myself to use.

It's like echolocation, except instead of making any noises, my brain sent waves that are only visible to me. Then everything alive sent back light waves and everything dead sent back dark waves. The size of the wave depends on the size of the object.

I smiled realizing, if I never used any of my gift, the government would have to put me in a mental hospital.
Soon, I started picking up on large, dark waves coming from my left. I turned in that direction and kept running. Already the pain was subsiding.

I slowed as the waves got bigger, also indicating I was really close, and I could see what it was. My eyes widened and I ducked when a flashlight beam turned on me. It was the government's androids.

How was that guys? I don't know about you but I'm getting excited. What do you guys think will happen? This was a relatively longer chapter this time and I'm sorry for all the older ones that are short, but it's just because that's how it's set up in my notebook.
