Do you know what it's like to be different
To be treated like an alien
They act like it's a crime to be different
But we're all created the sameMy taste is truly one of a kind
Im always met with shaking heads
All the while my creative mind
Is focused on my blessings insteadWhat if I don't wanna look like them
What if I enjoy being strange
What if I don't wanna copy them
I'm comfortable doing my thingWhat if I choose to be happy
What if I choose to be modest
What if I choose to wear my hair nappy
I love me to be honestThey can either love it or hate it
It's in the eyes of the beholder anyway
What others think is none of my business
Now I shall go on about my day
