'Get up.' I heared a voice behind me saying. I recognised the voice immediantly. It was Thomas.
'C'mon, Katherine you've to get up!' He shouted and came walking towards me. He softly moved my leg with his foot. 'C'mon Kath, you can't give up now, I won't let you!' He sat down beside me. 'I don't know how.' I said still laying in my wolf form on the ground. 'Afcourse you do! I will help you.' He said and grabbed my head and led it on his lap. 'Do you know what colour you are?' He asked and began to pet gentle over my head.
'Yes, I'm a white wolf.' I said. 'No, you're not a white wolf. You're the white wolf.' He said and grinned.
'What do you mean?' I asked and looked at him. He smiled and gentle pushed my head back on his lap.
'It means there is only one of you.' He said. 'I still don't understand.' I said
'The colour of a wolf his fur is indenticalually. There is only one in the whole world.' He said
'So that means that there is only one white wolf?' I asked. 'Excactly!' He said. 'And that there is only one black wolf?' I asked. 'Yeah, that's true.' He said and smiled at me.
We sat there for a long time without saying anything. Just laying there in the long tall grass with eachother was more than enough....until we got interrupted by a voice from behind.
'So, here you are Tommy!' I didn't recognise the voice. Thomas moved my head into the grass and stood up.
'Yeah sorry Lucy, this was important.
'Who is that?' Lucy said. I turned around and saw a little girl with black hair. I stood up and she took a few steps forward. Clearly she wasn't afraid of me. 'I'm Katherine, nice to meet you Lucy.' I said and bowed my head. 'She's pretty!' She wispered looking at Thomas. I smiled, but pretending I didn't hear what she said. 'I know.' Thomas said to her and looked at me with a funny look on his face. What was he thinking? Than Thomas interrupted the silence: 'C'mon it's getting dark soon. We've to get back.' I tried to move, but fell.
Thomas saw it and helped me to get up. Lucy walked infront of us and Thomas held me. 'I'm sorry that you've to help me...' I said. Thomas smiled and grinned. 'You're doing very well for your first change. This is totally normal. But you don't have a fair start.' 'Why is that?' I asked.
'Well, you're the white wolf, so you're stronger than most wolves except for the black one afcourse!' He laughed.
'But that's why I'm helping you.' He looked at me and smiled gentle.
And it gave me a warm feeling inside.
What is he doing with me?!
'Have you got plans for the dance already Tommy?' Lucy asked, but kept walking. 'No, I don't.' He said. He softened his grip around me.
--> To make things clear: you're still in your wolf form<--
What dance?' I asked.
'It's just a stupid tradition, don't worry about it.' Thomas smiled and looked at me. 'It's not stupid!' Lucy shouted. Now she was looking at Tommy with her hands palmed and there was a really angry look on her face.
'It's a beautiful tradition!' Lucy said looking at me. 'It's a sort of ball for all the wolfpacks in the land.' She continued. 'Like I said, it's stupid.' Thomas laughed, but he emmidiantly stopped laughing when he saw Lucy's angry face. 'Thomas, you're the alpha! You've to respect the old wolf traditions!' She shouted at him. Thomas looked down at his shoes. 'Look Thom...' but before Lucy could continue her sentence Thomas had left off. 'Thomas!' I shouted
'Let him go.' Lucy said. 'He'll be back.'
'What's wrong with him?' I asked
'Thomas doesn't like the ball.'
'But, why?' I asked
'I don't know if I can tell you, sorry.' She said and looked at me...she almost cried. 'It's okay.' I said and smiled at her. 'You're a nice girl Katherine.' She said and smiled again. 'So are you Lucy.' 'You have a strong heart and you're really helping Thomas' Lucy said.' 'What do you mean?' I said confused. 'Thomas is different since you're here. It looks like he's happier.' Lucy said and smiled at me. It gave me a warm feeling. Am I really helping Thomas to be happy?
