How could anyone be as childish as her? I know it's just her way of expressing herself; but does it has to involve flirting with cheesy puns, pickup lines, or jokes to me. Diya usually says "Just humor her, she'll get over messing with you." But it's hard to play along with her childish games.
I don't really want to get into the topic any more right now, let's just get whatever today holds over with. Diya and I sat on a bench not too far from a restroom where Akarsha was "taking a pee-pee", god I felt nauseous just thinking the phrase. I saw Diya starring at the miniature baseball field where she used to play.
"What's up?" I asked her. She turned her head to me and smiled.
"Just thinking." She answered in her soft, shy, and adorable voice.
"About?" I asked curiously.
She looked at the ground and sighed. "Just Her, " She hesitated.
Although she didn't say much, I knew who she was referring to. I looked at her sad expression and pulled her into a hug. I don't like "Her", never really have. But I will always comfort my friend in a time of need, no matter what, or who it's over.
Akasha walked out from the restroom and studied us. Mostly Diya who was still looking down.
"Yo, who died?" she asked concerned and confused.
"No one, just. Come-on." She said leading us out of the field to the dog park she loves to visit. There are like, four other dog parks around here, I don't know what makes this one so special to her.
Diya went off to play catch with the dogs. Akarsha and I sat close by, at a picnic table. Akarsha stood on top of the table part and was yelling stupid things that made no sense. I almost got up and started yelling at her, but I didn't want to ruin Diya's fun by starting an argument she'll have to stop, so I stayed quiet.
"Hay Frenchmen why so quiet?" Akarsha asked sitting beside me. I couldn't tell if she was being sarcastic or was actually worried.
"I'm just thinking," I replied to her question.
"About me?" she asked sheepishly wiggling her eyebrows.
"Yes, just thinking about your annoying and childish charm. " I said sarcastically. She gave me a wired look like she was planning something. She opened her mouth to speak, but quickly closed it again. Now showing an evil grin. I instantly regretted saying anything.
"You, think I'm charming?" she asked slowly with a witty smirk.
I felt my face go hot and my heart stop. I didn't know how to answer that. I tried to say something back, but no words would come out.
"No... I-I dn't-sa-aytng-lk-tht." My words incoherent.
Akarsha broke out in laughter at my response and fell to the ground dying. I sat there frozen, unsure what to do. Diya heard the commotion and came running.
"What happened?" Diya asked concerned laced in her voice..
"I...She...Charming...said...!" Akarsha said laughing uncontrollably at her own words.
"What?" Diya asked confused as I sat there, quietly in horror.
Almost an hur past before we made our way back to school. Diya had been wanting to join the new baseball team and urged me to come for moral support. Akarsha only agreed to join because as she out it. There are a lot of jokes to be made about baseball. Whatever that means, it can't be good. When we got there it was about what I expected. Diya didn't really say much, and Akarsha wouldn't shut up. Every sentence she said was a baseball pun. Worse of all I somehow got dragged into the lousy sport.
