frank kept dallon at his side for the next few days- it was awkward and uncomfortable at times but the small boy was determined to make it up to his best friend. eventually though, dallon had had enough, so he ruffled frank's hair and they'd hugged and he'd left.

now, though, frank was sitting on the gerard's lawn, the grass tickling his feet and smelling delightful. he loved the smell of freshly cut grass and had made it a habit to come out the front and lay down after mikey had mowed the lawn. the afternoon air swept over his skin lovingly, and his black locks curled messily on his forehead.

gerard was at work right now, along with the rest of the gang, so mikey was doing his math homework on the lawn with frank. frank doodled aimlessly on his english notebook, having finished writing his paragraph about william shakespeare. (frank thought he was boring and old and a coot. plays, he thought, were super boring, and such a drag.)

"i'm bored," he stated. mikey looked up at him, his glasses sliding down his nose as he did so.

"what?" he asked, pushing his glasses back up and sniffing, because of his hayfever.

"i'm bored!" frank fell backwards, landing on the soft pad of grass beneath his back. mikey giggled, nodding in agreement. "c'mon," frank laughed, patting the space next to himself. mikey carefully closed his binder, placing his textbook on to, and taking off his glasses, placing them delicately on top of his stack of books. then, he turned, and flopped onto the grass next to frank. the two erupted into a fit of giggles, and frank felt himself relaxing even more.

"y'know, i'm kinda glad that you're dating my brother. it's like i've got a whole other brother, and it's cool, 'cause you're, like, different to gee, ya' dig?" mikey said quietly, once their laughter had died down, still facing the sky on his back. frank flushed, and turned on his side to look at mikey. "like, gee's not always here for me 'cause he's got work 'n stuff, 'n i just think it's nice to have someone to mess around with. i dunno anyone my age 'round here, ya dig?"

"i dig," frank nodded, and mikey smiled shyly, turning his head to face frank. "you're not so bad yourself, mikey. give yourself some credit- it must've been hard to be here alone a lot."

"yeah, i guess, but then i met pete, 'n.. he's kept me company a lot. kept me  safe, too, and he- well, he's just pretty heckin' primo." mikey's face was flushed and frank was over the moon to hear mikey opening up to him and not hiding behind his sarcastic facade he usually wore.

"y'know, mikey, i think you're an amazing brother, to gee and to me," frank said to him, and mikey grinned, before turning his head back away to watch the clouds.

"rad," mikey said, and frank giggled, resting his head down again, too.

"yeah, rad," frank agreed, the two shuffling closer so that frank could lean his head on mikey's shoulder. mikey rest his head atop frank's, and the two pointed out different cloud shapes until gerard came home.

and gerard joined them.
