Chapter Eight

Ruby's P.O.V.

     I watch as Vawp got up and pushed the arrow out of him. I hear him giggle slightly to what Cinder said as he throws the arrow to the ground. He walked over to her and allowed Cinder shoot another arrow into him before gripping her by the throat. 

     I yelp backing up as I see Cinder hit Vawp across his head cracking his mask and implanting shards of it into his face. I glance into his eyes and they're no longer there wonderful blue color yet a deep void sending shivers down my spine.

     Vawp growls and places the barrel of his gun next to her gut and I screech at the sight, shielding my eyes in fear. 

Vawp's P.O.V.

      I hear Ruby inside my head and have a look from a third person kinda view, seeing her shield her eyes in fear. Darkness, stop, don't do this. Ruby doesn't need to see this. 

     I hear him grunt before firing, seeing that he didn't switch the ammo causing Cinder to faint from pain before tossing her to the side. He looks to the side to Pyrrha and walks up to her, she had passed out from shock.

     He checks her before pulling out my scroll and contacts Qrow and gives him are location before looking to Ruby and comes up to her. I can sense him scan her with his own powers and smirk before kneeling down beside her shaking figure to say one thing, "you have silver eyes Ruby Rose and I Vawp Cerberus have the eyes of the void." I hear him chuckles softly before walking away slowly before slowly releasing control and I fall unconscious with my body.

Time Skip

     My eyes slowly open, glancing around the room getting a sense of deja vu as I glance around the room seeing that I was in an empty room beside the exception of a dresser, a pair of fresh clothes on a chair, and a mirror in the corner that is covered up with a sheet. 

      I reach a hand to my head feeling a bandage and trace it to feel that it's over the right side of my face. I sigh before leaning over and rubbing my legs to test out the nerves before swinging my feet over the bed and walk over to the clothes and change into them. 

     They fit a bit loosely but it's better then nothing I guess. I sigh softly before hearing the door squeak open and a shattered of glass dropped. I look to the sudden jump hug from Ruby. I grunt slightly before wrapping my arms around her smiling softly.

     She looks up at me holding me tightly before glancing at the door seeing a man with yellow hair. Ruby slowly let go and faced towards the man before saying, "Vawp... meet my father Taiyang..."

     I nodded before stepping forward and offering him my hand, which he shook before he tugged at his shirt before speaking, "it's nice to formally meet you, and not just by news covers and having my daughter and her uncle showing up here with your unconscious body".

     I laugh nervously as I see him stares sternly for some reason and Ruby waves him off. I tilt my head slightly before Ruby sits me down and haves me wait as she leaves the room as I presume to talk to Tia.

     I wait there for a few moments before I hear Ruby come back in and sit next to me leaning against my arm. I can't help but smile leaning my head against Ruby myself. She sighs before starting, "When Qrow gets here, I need to tell you something okay Vawp?" 

"Yeah sure thing Ruby, but is something wrong?" I ask concerningly.

She shakes her head responding, "no, not particularly but it's important..." 

      I nod before planting a kiss on her head which in response she faces me and plants a kiss on my lips. I blush lightly before kissing back having her melt into it as I feel her lightly pulls me closer.

     I allow her slightly leaning over her before I press her up against the bed kissing her more deeply feeling her press up against me. I softly bite her lower lip teasingly before pulling away from her and lock eyes with her.

     She raises a hand and place it on the bandaged side of my face before sighing softly and unwrap the bandage from my face and traces her hand against my once smooth face. She gets out from underneath me and brings me over to the mirror saying, "it's not as bad as you think, just need a bit longer to heal," before removing the sheet over the mirror to let me see my face since then.

     I take this moment to take in the new scars I've gotten as well on my arm from the shards of debris and the arrow. I can see that they're almost fully healed with my aura as I see my face. It was scarred with gashes over the top part of my head and close to my eye.

     Ruby notice how I was staring at my facial feature and scars before placing a hand on my cheek, redirecting my gaze to her. She smiles softly and pulls me down planting a kiss on my lips whispering, "I still love you, no matter what."

     I smile lightly holding her closely, feeling her embraces me back. she snuggles into me as I kiss the top of her head with a slight giggled. Ruby looked towards the door as we heard it open with Qrow walking in.

     Qrow glances at us before closing the door behind him. Ruby guides me back to the bed and sits me down. There's a short moment of silences before Ruby bumps Qrow with her elbow before I see him reach into his coat and pull out something wrapped up in cloth handing it to me. I take it and slowly unwrap the cloth discovering my mask. My eyes widen in shock from seeing it repaired to the best of someone abilities, I'll have to take this to that friend of mine. I smile softly before looking up at Qrow thanking him, "thank you Qrow, this means a lot to see it back in one piece!" 

Qrow chuckles slightly before slurring out, "no problem kiddo, but that's the only pieces we had been able to recover to repair it..." he stops briefly before glancing to Ruby then back at me, "but from the story I heard of what had happened at the top of Beacon Tower, you have some questions to answer."

I sighed softly about to start off by agreeing until Ruby spoke up, " Uncle Qrow I still haven't had told him about the thing..." I see her poking her fingers together.

"Well tell him, he needs to know," Qrow groans out.

Ruby fixed her gaze to me, "So Vawp remember the night of the dance?" 

 I nod trying to see where this was going until it hits me.

"I'm pregnant..." Ruby mumbles softly as a faint blush glows on my cheek.

      Qrow rolls his eyes, taking out his flask taking a swig of it as Ruby giggles nervously. I take this moment to mention, "wait so does that mean when we were in our dorm and you felt unwell, it was because you were pregnant?" 

She nods, "Yeah I found out that day, Yang sent Qrow to get a pregnancy test..." she glances to the floor having a look of desperation whispering, "are you okay with that?" 

I chuckle softly before bringing Ruby close into an embrace, "of course it is, why wouldn't it?" 

      She smiles and hugs me back wrapping her arms around me tightly. I could feel the nervousness she had upon telling me this news, but I'm glad that she told me. Qrow coughed to get our attention which worked having us face him.

"So with that across, Vawp please explain what happened at the top of Beacon Tower with your eyes changing colors..."
