He tried his best to be as quiet as possible so that he could pamper you for once; the night before he had come home tired from practice, so you made him food and gave him a massage before letting him sleep. When you hugged him from behind he would pretend to be annoyed with you and part of it wasn't an act.
"Why are you up?! This was supposed to be a surprise!"
When you giggled and held him tighter he couldn't help but smile; it may not have gone as planned but it was still perfect.

It was hard for him to cook, but he was trying his best. But his best was less than average when it came to pancakes. You woke up to the smell of burnt batter and the sounds of a frustrated boyfriend. Your arms wrapped around him as he tried his best to make the pancakes, his hands moving at the speed of light until he felt your touch.
"I'm sorry, I wanted to try and make you breakfast, but..." You would smile against his back
"Don't be sorry, I'm going to eat everything you made for me."
His eyes went wide at your reply and he quickly turned to you in shock, only to find you reaching for one of the cooked ones that was set aside, and taking a bite of it.
"See, it's fine. So thank you for this delicious breakfast."
