Misconception - Prt 4
I was thinking about what to do. Was there anything else I could've done? I hadn't been given the liberty to roam about freely outside for a while, so I started feeling a bit claustrophobic. I was hoping for those animals to free me. As I sat there, rocking back and forth and thinking about the day which I thought was going to be completely consisting of solitude, I heard the pin code being dialed and someone coming into my room. It was probably dinner.
"Mr. Roland, how do you feel about taking a stroll outside?" That was it; the chance I was waiting for. I simple nodded my head and waited for the creature to take my outside. "Just wait right here and I'll be back." The creature walked away, with a mocking smile on its face. I felt offended, but acting then would've only kept me locked up for even longer.
I searched my room for anything I could've carried with me. Unfortunately, there was nothing, so I sat there and devised a plan to get out. There were two options. One; I persuade the creature to letting me go free. Two; I simply barge out the doors and run for it. Personally, I wanted to be civilized, so I decided to go with the first option. The animal-like thing returned, holding a few syringes, probably to attack me if I acted up. I ignored the threat and walked out proudly, soaking up the artificial light. The acting had already begun.
I had to assume a presentable role so the creatures would let me be. I had done everything I was told and I even smiled a bit; just for them. And so, after a pleasant stroll around the artificial garden, I was told that it was time to go back to my room. The thought suddenly enraged me and my blood started quickening. I switched tactics and decided to follow the second option. With a swift arm, I grabbed the syringes that the creature was holding, took one, and stabbed it in the face multiple times. Then, to be sure, I took its arm and emptied more of the drug into its blood stream, so that it would be immobile. I was soon on the run.
The spattered blood on my face dripped down onto my clothes with every step. The drumming sound of my feet was methodic and quite soothing. Soon, another one of those creatures appeared in front of me. I grabbed its head and pitched it into a row of steel chairs held tightly against the wall. Its saliva glistened in the blaring lights. I then picked its head up again and threw it into a glass window. The shards flew everywhere and sliced the creature's face. It lay there, unconscious. I caught the attention of more creatures. I looked back only to find out that it had turned into a pursuit. I hadn't known where I was running, but I knew I had to get away from the creatures. A few seconds passed, and another creature popped up in front of me. I charged at it, hoping to tackle it into the wall. Suddenly, I felt something drag my foot and soon I was falling, a few feet away from my target. At the right moment, I pulled out a syringe and held it up high, ready to hit. I crashed on the floor, and instinctively stood back up. I was quite lucky with my hit and grunted happily as I pulled the syringe out of its eye. I was on the run again. I looked up and saw an 'exit' sign. That had to be my way out, I thought. I broke through the doors and ran outside. Suddenly, my eyes started burning and I recoiled. It was the natural light in the sky; it was too bright to get used to in an instance. I covered my eyes a bit and dashed down the street. I looked back and let out a sigh of relief. I was free.
