The Drive-in

Me, Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally snuck into the drive-in. Soon after we sat down, a redhead and a brunette girl sat in front of us.

"I came here to see a movie and I'm gonna see a movie," the redhead said.

Then, Dally started flirting with her.

"Are you a real red? Are you real?"

"Oh, cut it out Dal," Johnny said.

Dally put his feet on her chair.

"Get your feet off my chair and shut your trap!" The redhead said.

"Who's gonna make me, huh? Your boyfriend?"

"You better leave us alone or I'll call the cops," the brunette said.

"Oh my my! You got me scared to death. What am I gonna do now Pony, huh? This girl's making me shake," Dally said sarcastically.

"Dally, let's just watch the movie," I said.

He ignored me.

"Can I interest you in a Co-"

"Get lost hood!" The redhead yelled.

Dally left.

"You gonna start in on us now too!?"

"No," Ponyboy said.

"You don't look the type. What's your name?"

"Ponyboy Curtis."

"That's an original name."

"My dad was an original person. Got a brother named Sodapop, it even says so on his birth certificate."

"My name's Sherri. People call me Cherry because of my hair."

"I know, we go to the same school, you're a cheerleader."

"Yeah."

I knew Cherry too.

"Cherry Valence. I remember you. You're in math with me. It's me Jackie."

"Yeah! I saw your mom at the Dingo the other day."

Dally came back with some Cokes. 

"Thought this might cool you off."

She threw the Coke in his face.

"Beat it or I'll cool you off Greaser! You better learn to talk decent I might cool off too!"

"Fiery huh? That's the way I like em!"

Dally started grabbing her.

"Get off of me! Stop!"

Johnny stood up.

"Leave her alone Dal!"

Dally stopped and gave Johnny the death stare.

"What'd you say!?"

"You heard me, leave her alone."

"What'd you say you little shit!? What'd you say to me!?"

"Come on."

"Wise ass!"

Johnny was scared to death. Dally got up and left.
