Ponyboy, Johnny and Two-Bit walked me home. 

"Good night, Jackie," the boys said.

"Good night."

I walked in the house. Bud was here. Great.

"Hi baby! Did you have fun at the movies?"

"Yeah."

"Baby, I got some news. Come sit down."

I sat on the couch.

"I have known Bud ever since we were kids. We even rode the rails together during the Great Depression. So, me and Bud decided we should spend the rest of our lives together."

What the hell is she saying!?

"We've decided to get married!"

My heart literally sank to the floor like the Titanic!

"Isn't it great!?"

I stared at Mom and Bud for about ten seconds before losing my mind.

"You...you know what Mom!? If you wanna choose your boyfriend over your own child then screw it!"

I screamed as I ran outside to try to find the boys.

"Jackie! Jackie! You get back n the house!" I heard Mom.

I saw Ponyboy and Johnny in the lot. I charged for the part of the lot where they're at, I fell by Pony and cried.

"Jackie, you scared us!"

They noticed my tears.

"Jackie, what's wrong?"

"Mom is marrying Bud!"

Both of the boys were pissed.

"I can't believe this."

Then, out of nowhere, Johnny started crying.

"I can't take this anymore! I'll kill myself or somethin!"

I stopped crying as me and Pony comforted Johnny.

"Johnny, don't kill youself."

We laid on the ground.

"Must be some place without Greasers and Socs! Must be some place, just plain ordinary people."

"It's like that out in the counrty, away from all the big towns, out in the country."

Pony's voice trailed off. I sat up to look at them, they were sleeping. I laid back down, might as well sleep.
