"A killer?" I asked. Enoch smirked then bursted into laughter saying that it was the most immature thing he ever heard of, but Kahlo didn't seem to mind.

"Even though you smirked, I know you like me." Said Kahlo, nodding at Enoch.

"What makes you say that?" Said Enoch, blushing a bit. It was a very rare thing for Enoch to blush, so we looked at Kahlo and Enoch with excitement.

"I just know it." She said, sitting next to me. We laughed at Enoch, surprised that he had a crush in Kahlo.

"And as I said, I'm a killer - a hollow hunter. But since Jacob Portman killed all of it I guess I'll have to find another job." She said, shrugging and had a mouthfull bite of her sandwitch.

"Guys!" Yelled Jacob's voice behind us. 'What are you doing with her?' He mouthed.

"I'm not a wight, no need to worry." Said Kahlo.

Jacob looked at her with a strange look.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"I'm a peculiar. Just like you. I see things that you can't including the hollows and your minds. You were expecting me to be a wight, correct?" Said Kahlo.

"I-"

"But I'm not." She said, shrugging. "Oh and also, I can't control them, so don't worry. You're still a hero."

Jacob rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed.

"She's a girl Encoh." Whispered Jacob to Emma and me. But the others had heard it, and Enoch glared at Jacob.

"Is that a compliment?" asked Kahlo.

"Why don't you read my mind?" said Jacob, sarcasticly.

In a while, Kahlo frowned and said: "So it's not a compliment."

"Obviously." Said Jacob.

"Where's your loop? Who's your ymbrine?" I asked, and Kahlo's face darkened.

"I'm... Alone." She said.

"You can stay with us. Miss Peregrine will love it." I said.

"What? No! There's no room for her to stay." said Jacob.

"No, there's a spare room in the basement." Said Millard, and Enoch nodded.

Jacob sighed.

"What if the other students realize we live in the same house?" He asked.

"We all live in a same house, and I believe that everybody here knows it." I said back.

"And besides, no one really cares about me. You know that, Portman." Said Kahlo. I began to feel bad for her.

She told us what she can do - see, to be correct - specfically.

She was able to see simple informations of a person. For example, she pointed at Horace and said: "You are Horace Sumnusson, you can see the future in your dreams. Correct?"

And we found out that she could see Millard. Millard showed her his bare hand and told her to point at the index finger, and she did. She grabbed his finger without hesitating.

She had a loop fifty or more years ago, protected by Miss Kakapo. But she was kidnapped one day and the loop was no longer there. Her real age was 17 then, and her loop age was 15 so shed didn't age much, but a lot of her friends aged and died. Some were lost, and some starved to death. She once got attacked by a hollow and nearly died, and that's when she joined in the peculiar killer group.

"Our job is killing the hollows, and some wights. Your grandfather was one of us. I'm so sorry for your loss-he was an amazing killer." Kahlo explained, nodding at Jacob.

"How do you know that my grandfather's dead?" He asked.

"I read your mind. Deep in your mind, you're always thinking about him." Said Kahlo.

She told more about her life. She lived a few months killing hollows and finding a loop. With her only friend she had loved, with her only not lost or dead friend. But he was soon lost too, in a small island. After few weeks being alone, she found Miss Hummingbird's loop in London. Miss Hummingbird's loop was raided in the privious battle, and she was the only one who had escaped.

"I'm curious if Miss Hummingbird's alive." She said, her face darkening as she said.

I didn't know why, but Enoch's face was very dark, too. Even darker than his usual dark, frowning face.

"Hi, Enoch." I heard Kahlo's voice. I looked up to see her face. I was sitting on a bench. It was still lunch time but I lost my appitite, so I got ip early.

"Hi." I said back.

I knew I was the friend Kahlo had mentioned in her words. Her loving friend who had been lost in a small island. I knew Kahlo had embarrassed me infront of everybody by saying I had thought Kahlo was pretty on purpose.

"It's a good thing you're alive." She said.

"It's good you're alive, too. How come you don't age?" I asked, not looking at her.

"Killers don't age." She said.

"...Since when did you wear black clothes?" I asked.

"I don't know." she answered.

Fresh breeze grazed our cheeks. Despite of the other's cursing and laughs, there was a long silence between us.

I had been one of Miss Kakapo's wards. But one day she got kidnapped, and as soon as she got kidnapped our loop was gone. Me and my friends wandered around for food, money and clothes. In five days, Sarah, Mary, Thomas, Holly had aged forward and died, and young Timothy caught a nasty cold and died. Ella and Asa became hollow's feast, and the only left ones were Kahlo and me. I loved Kahlo and she loved me too, but we soon got seperated by a hollow.

"Enoch, look out! A hollow!" Kahlo yelled. I tried to run, but it was too late. The hollow grasped my waist tightly, unable to breath. It was a giant hollow-it was very tall. We were in the woods, making campfire. Kahlo picked up a wood we used to make fire to kill the giant hollow, but she was too late too.

"Enoch! Can you hear me?" Yelled Kahlo. I tried not to faint, and saw Kahlo in the air. The hollow had grabbed her, too.

Kahlo was still holding a wood. It had a pointy edge, just like a arrow. She threw it into the hollow's eye- I knew she did even though I wasn't able to see the hollow- and the hollow tumbled over.

"Haha! Nailed it!" She yelled in excitement, and I smiled too. But we shrieked again when the hollow's tongue threw us deep into the woods while the hollow collapsed into death.

I woke up, sun shining and birds chirping loudly. I looked around but all I could see was trees. I realized I had landed on my face, and woke up a couple of hours later.

"Kahlo? Kahlo!" I yelled, but all I could hear was my echoing voice.

"Enoch? Enoch!" Kahlo shook me.

"Whoa! Um..." I stuttered, trying to get rid of the flashbacks.

"Are you okay? What were you thinking about?" asked Kahlo.

"Nothing... Just a flashback." I murmured, and stood up from the bench. "We should probably get going. Lunch time's almost over."

She nodded, and held my hand. I took out my hand from her's quickly.

"What, I can't hold your hand?" She asked, frowning. I stuffed my hands in my pocket and walked without talking.
