"What? Why not?" Said Hugh, completely puzzled. "We risked our lives to save her, and now she can't come with her?" He said, pushing the table to stand up. His chair fell to the ground making a big sound, which showed Hugh was getting angry.

Miss Peregrine still seemed to be calm. "Mister Apiston -"

"Is it about the choice she made before?" Asked Hugh.

"No, Hugh. I'll age, that's why." Said Fiona quietly.

Hugh sat on his chair again, frowning.

"Oh, I'm sorry Miss P." He murmured.

We sat there for a few seconds, most of us just staring at the ground.

"Then... What do we do?" Asked Hugh.

Kahlo opened her mouth to say something, but shut it again.

"What is it, Miss McCarshy?" Asked Miss Peregrine.

Kahlo turned to us, looking serious.

"Does she mean a lot to you?" She asked. Obviously, the 'she' was Fiona, and she wasn't just asking to Hugh. She was asking to everyone.

"Yes." Said Hugh. Then everyone murmured a low "Yes"s. Even Enoch.

"Why do you ask?" Asked Hugh. "Do you think we're kidding?" He said, raising his eyebrows.

"Hugh, what's the matter with you!" Said Emma.

"Yeah, Hugh. You gotta stop acting like me." Said Enoch.

"No, no, it isn't that - Remember what I told you? About the Killers? They don't age." Said Kahlo.

"Haha, lucky you." Said Hugh sarcastically.

"Well I can make Fiona stop aging." Said Kahlo. "I can do this to a non-killer once in a... What was that? Hundred years? A thousand? Well, anyways. It's only for emergency, but I can use it to Fiona if you really, really do love her."

We all nodded without hesitation, and Hugh was literally begging for Kahlo to do that .

"Okay. This is one of the biggest benefits a killer can have, but I guess I'm gonna give it to my new friend." She said, standing up from her chair.

She told us that this was a super-top secret - how it works, and what the magic potion or something looks like, so she took Fiona upstairs, leaving everyone behind.

Everyone except me was drinking more and more tea (which I didn't get why), and I was reading the newspaper when Fiona and Kahlo came downstairs.

Somehow Fiona looked brighter than usual.

"Is it just my imagination or is it real?" murmured Hugh.

"What's real?" Asked Fiona.

"That you look even more beautiful than usual." Said Hugh.

"Alright, children. Let's go back home." Said Miss P.

We walked through the long hallway of rooms.

"Aha! Here it is." Said Miss Peregrine, making suddenly us stop walking.

The door had a big title: "Florida."

That familiar, cozy name.
