Chapter 8

What I saw before me made my unbeaten heart broke into pieces, our warriors were headless pinned to the walls, their heads were on spears in a line, black crows were busy ripping meat off their faces. I saw two big wings chained to the walls of the castle, Camilla grew angry I touched her fur to calm down. “This is what he wants Camilla he wants you to get angry and let your demon destroy every little thing.” She landed right in front of the gate and sat me down. I walked inside and there he was sitting on his throne. “Well hello my dearest sister in law, that’s what you call it in the human world? Who cares I saw you brought me the one thing I was praying for.” I scanned the room and didn’t see the memory man, then I heard a loud growl. He came out of the darkness his eyes were one red and one yellow, this is not my memory man. He started to snuff the air and growl again black liquid came out of his mouth. “What have you done to him?” he gave me a smile showing his rotten teeth. “I cured him from the sickness that was lurking inside of him.” I wanted to make my way to the keeper of demons when the memory man came running to me, he threw me against the floor again and again. He was about to rip my face off when I took his hand and laid it on my stomach. His  mind was battling with him I saw his eyes looking into my soul and he bit me. I laid there making like I was dead. “Finally, Camilla come here to your uncle, I am here to show you what you truly can become.” “I know what I am and I know what I can become, I use to think my inner demon wanted to kill everything that moves on this earth and breathes but that’s not what she meant. She wanted me to destroy the sickness in the dark.” I heard her shout and the next thing I knew she was starting to rip the keeper of demon’s skin off by biting him. I stood up and created fire, she saw me and nodded she moved with him into the fire and they both were burning. “You are going to kill both of us!” she smiled “I’ll rather die with you than to stand by your side and kill the ones I love.” She looked over to me and smiled with a tear in her eye. You could smell burning hair and meat, they turned into ashes, I fell to my knee’s and waited for her to come back like every time she had to stop her inner demon. “Elizabeth… she… she’s not coming back, the poison killed her human form, without it she can’t shape shift… she’s…” I look up at him with tears in my eyes. “Don’t you dare say it.” I moved closer and took the ash in my hands she wasn’t there, she was gone. “NO, NO PLEASE!” the memory man picked me up, I tried getting out of his grip. “Please I beg you that’s my daughter, I can’t leave her.” He stopped in his track and sat me down, he looked at me and for the first time there was a tear in his eyes. “She was my everything as well Elizabeth.” He made his way outside, I went to the ashes and with my earth keeper powers I tried to divide the ashes. I finally took her ashes and turned it into a beautiful yellow diamond. “I am going to keep you by me forever my child.”

Today was a day I wish never came, Camilla would have been two years old, she grew up so fast and functioned like a full grown human but she was just a baby. I was walking outside by the pond I made for her and went to sit down by it. “Hello my baby, today two years ago you were born, I thought I was going to be a terrible mother but you made me believe otherwise. I wish everything could have turned out another way, I love you… I will always love you…” I touched the yellow diamond around my neck. Ever since the death of Camilla me and the memory man never spoke again, he lost his first born and soul. I can hear him crying at night. My soul could feel his pain, he never comes into my dreams anymore.

When I stood up to make my way to the castle I felt wetness between my legs I looked down and saw my water broke, but this time it was clear water and no blood. "Memory man!”
I shouted in a split second he came to me and saw why I shouted, he picked me up and ran with me to the nearest room. He was making his way outside the room when I stopped him. “Please stay, I want you to stay.” He looked tired, defeated but he gave me a small smile. “If you insist.” He came to stand next to me, the house nurse told me to push. After a few pushes we heard a crying baby, the memory man stood closer to where the sound was coming from, a healthy baby boy was given to the memory man. He smiled and looked into his eyes, blue as the ocean. “Elizabeth you need to push again.” I pushed again and heard a crying baby, the doctor held the baby up. “it’s another boy.” She gave him to me and saw he had blue ocean eyes. “Mommy’s little warriors” the memory man came to stand next to me. “They are beautiful Elizabeth.” I had a pain between my legs and something told me to push.

“something is still inside of me, I need to push.” I pushed for the last time and there was another cry. “Its… it’s a girl” she handed the memory man our child and he saw bright yellow eyes looking up at him. He started to cry and kissed her all over her face. “What would you like to call them?” he looked at me and smiled.

“this one will be Achilleus, he will bring pain upon the people that hurts his family.”

“This one will be Arastos, he will stand his ground and be there when we need him”

“and this little girl will be Aikaterina, she will be the purest of us all.”

We were a family again, with the sick darkness gone we can finally be a family.
