I sat in detention bored. I had nothing to do. My eyes kept fallig on the mysterious boy with bright orange hair. We sat on the same row and he kept catching me staring at him. I looked over and this time I caught him staring at me. Neither one of us looked away and we didn't blink either. After about a minute I blinked and he stuck out his tongue mouthing the words "I won." To me. I laughed quietly at that. We start playing Rock Paper Scissors from across the room with each other until I get the idea to pass notes.

I wrote "hey my names Matt Sohinki." Made it into a ball and rolled it on the floor to him. He read it and wrote down something rolling it back up and tossing it at me. The teacher luckily didn't see and unfolded it and read it to myself smiling. "Can I call you Sohinki? You can call me Lasercorn thats what most of my friends call me." I nodded.

We continued passing notes and we learned we had alot in common. We both were gamers, played most of the same games, and were on the safe side and were only in here for tardies. We weren't hardcore enough for anything really crazy.

On the last note he wrote his number. I smiled at that. I wonder if he's gay. Or at least bi. He seems like someone I might like in that way. After detention we stood outside in the parking lot. "Hey. I know we just started talking. But do you want to come over and play some games?" He asked me. I smiled. "That sounds great." I told him. We went to our cars and I followed him home (in a non-creepy way).

When we got there his mom stood in the kitchen cooking something. "Hey honey!" She called smiling. "Is this your.....hmmm hmm hmm?" She asked wiggling her eyebrows. "No mom." He sighed and looked to me before looking back. "This is not my boyfriend. This is my friend, Sohinki. We met at detention." He said as we made our way past the kitchen.

"Okay. Well I'm prepping for dinner so be ready for dinner at 6:45-ish 7." She said as we walked past. "Ok mom!" He said as we went to his room. "Sorry about her. She's alittle out there." He said after he closed the door and handed me a controller. "Its fine. She seems awesome." I told him.

"She's pretty badass. She was planning on being a surgeon but life happened so you know." He told me. "What all happened? I'd love to hear it." I told him taking a seat on his floor. We startedup the game and started the story.

"She got into med school and got a job and everything after that. Then she met my father. I've only met him a few times but he seems pretty cool. They started dating and had plans to get married but before that happens little baby corn." He gestured to himself.

"I was born and then my dad proposed when I was at 8 months. But a 1 year they had a really big fight about how my mom was never there because ya know surgeons work pretty much all the time and they called off the wedding. She could've given me up or let my father take me, but for some reason unknown to man she gave up her job as a surgeon to take care of me." He said.

"She wanted to go somewhere in surgery. She was gonna specialize in cardio and wanted to become famous. But you know, life." He laughed. I could tell he was upset. "That's amazing. She gave up her dream because you meant more to her. More to her than her dream of fame and saving lives. She went away from that to be there for you." I told him.

"I've told her to go back into surgery. I'm old enough now that I can take care of myself, but she refuses. She settled with a different job. A boring one. She still tells me stories about when she was still a surgeon." He smiled a bit. "Well maybe I can hear some of those stories one day." I smiled.

We played games and then there was a knock on the door. "Hey guys. Dinner is almost done. Sohinki if you want you are welcome to stay." She smiled before closing the door. "Are you gonna stay?" He asked me. "Yeah why not." I smiled and we got up going out to the kitchen. We all made small talk and then eventually I went home. His mother loved me. I feel like I might actually like him. He's amazing.

Its been a few months since me and Lasercorn have been talking. I learned so much about him. His first name is David, he has alot of crazy friends who I love, he pretty much always has his red iron man jacket on, he died his hair orange on a bet, and he is bi.

I like him alot. And I want to ask him to be my boyfriend. Maybe he'd say yes. Maybe he'd say no and be weird for the next month. Its a chance I want to take.

I went to his house and unlocked the door. They gave me a key I'm over here so much. "I'm home!" I called out. This is like my home away from home. "I'm in my room!" He called back. I went back there seeing him playing a game. "Hey sohin." He smiled at me. "Hey Corny." I smiled back sitting next to him.

"Whats up? You're in a good mood." He asked. "I'm doing the unthinkable." I exclaimed. "And that is?" He looked at me quizzically. "Will you be my boyfriend?" I asked. He looked surprised and I went into a small panic. His face softened and a smile spread across his face.

"I will. I've been waiting for you to ask me this for awhile." He said softly. "Awhile?" I asked. "I'm too chicken to take the first move and I really like you. I was hoping you'd say something. And now I can stop wishing." He said. I stared into his eyes. "Shut up." I said before kissing him. It was a short sweet kiss. "I really like you." I said before kissing him again.

The end was really bad. I'm so sorry.
