PICTURE OF JULIA ON SIDE------->
Yelling woke me up the next morning. Groaning in annoyance, I threw away the blankets and groggily stared at Josiah's empty side. His voice and some feminine voice were the ones arguing. It was familiar but I couldn't place it. Then I registered what Josiah was yelling.
"Delilah I'm serious! Go the hell home, she's sleeping!"
"For the last time, Colton asked me to come!" Rubbing my eyes, I stood and stumbled towards the door in my pajamas. As I opened the door, JoJo ran past me and hid in the corner. Offering him a sympathetic smile, I left the door open and wandered towards the yelling. I emerged into the living room to find Josiah restraining Delilah by sitting on her back, holding her arms together behind her. Delilah was growling and squirming while Josiah glared at her furiously. Clearing my throat, I raised my brow as they both froze and whipped their heads around to look at me. Suddenly, Josiah leapt to his feet and made his way over to me, holding out his arms with a welcoming smile.
"Morning my sweet." I buried my face in Josiah's chest as he wrapped his arms around me, resting them just above my butt. It was a lovely way to wake up, soaking up his warmth and a smile twitched at my lips as I listened to his steadying heartbeat. Delilah's friendly but strained voice pried open my eyes as I watched her heave herself off the ground.
"Hello Ava. How have you been feeling?" I didn't make a move to leave Josiah's arms but smiled at her. Most girls would think I'm crazy to let my boyfriend's ex-girlfriend hang around but I still thought she was alright. Besides it was kind of obvious that Josiah was still angry with her.
"Better, I've grown used to the visions for the most part." Now Josiah pulled back, pushing back my bangs and staring down at me with crinkle-eyed concern.
"You've been having more visions?" I briefly nodded but continued to watch Delilah as she brushed off her jeans and straightened out her navy blue sweater. She bent down to grab an old style doctor bag from by the couch and deftly pulled her blonde locks into a ponytail.
"Alright, well Colton sent me just to double check. He also wanted me to let you both know that he's sending some mutt friends of yours to stick by Ava."
"Gavin and Javin?" She nodded and replied with concentration in her eyes.
"Yes." Josiah pulled away, sliding his hand into mine and leading me around to sit on the couch.
"What for?" Delilah mirrored our actions but sat on a chair across the room, gazing around the room with familiarity. It made me wonder how many times she'd been here while she dated Josiah. Did they ever-? I shook the train of thought from my head and focused on Delilah's response.
"When he returned, his office was trashed. He filled me in, by the way about the traitor and Colton believes that he knows we're onto him so he's getting nervous. He's very animated about it, even though it's getting more dangerous. Ivan doubled Colton's guards and that's why he insisted your wolfy friends come along. After all, no Immortal in his right mind will poke his nose in an area with wolves. It's asking for trouble." Her statement caused me to purse my lips but I didn't say anything further.
"Will you be staying?" Delilah shifted and began sifting through her bag before replying.
"Um...maybe just for the night. After that I'll have to be moving along." I nodded and smiled, laying my head on Josiah's shoulder. There was a prolonged moment of silence before Josiah's reluctant voice piped up.
"You can have the guest room, I assume you remember where that is?" Delilah's head lolled up as she arched a brow, lips puckered in distaste.
