"Ivory, Ivory, wake up. I need your help." I knelt beside Ivory's sleeping form on the floor and whispered in her ear. All the girls along with Javin, Josiah, and Cameron all camped out on the living room floor last night so I had to be extremely careful not to step on someone's gut or kick their head. Ivory stirred loudly and I slapped my hand over her mouth. She jerked awake and stared at me with wide eyes. Shrugging sheepishly, I jerked my head towards the kitchen. Rolling her eyes, Ivory exhaled dramatically against my hand. We stood and tiptoed around the still sleeping forms. I woke up quite early, early enough to watch the sunrise with a warm cup of coffee. Now it was 7 and I decided I waited for Ivory long enough. Besides I needed to ensure that Josiah would still be sleeping while I talked to her. Shuffling in behind me, Ivory grumbled tiredly.
"This better be good Ava." Pouring her a mug of coffee, I grinned excitedly. She seemed to ignore it as she gulped down the coffee. We leaned against the counters and I began quietly.
"I want to throw a birthday party for Josiah. On his birthday, before we leave for Colton's." This seemed to catch her attention as it made her set her mug down and don a contemplative expression.
"A surprise one I suppose and that's why we're up this early?" I nodded and Ivory smiled sweetly. She chuckled and shook her head into her coffee. I couldn't contain my own smile as I questioned quietly.
"What?" She sipped her coffee again and mused with affection in her tone.
"Destiny was really nice about making it up to my brother. You're way better than I could've ever imagined for him. That also means I can't play big, tough sister without coming across as a psycho." That made me giggle and I held my own mug up to my mouth.
"We'll start planning on Monday, what time are you free and we can go out to eat?" Ivory nodded, gazing up in thought.
"We can meet in town for lunch, around 12:30." I opened my mouth to agree when Cameron shuffled in, rubbing his eyes and scratching his bare chest. We released a breath of relief when it wasn't Josiah catching onto our plans. Snagging away Ivory's coffee, Cameron drank heartily. Ivory rolled her eyes but leaned into him. Sighing softly, Cameron's eyes flickered between us as he smiled knowingly.
"What are you two rascals up to this early in the morning?" Stealing back her coffee, Ivory answered him.
"Planning a surprise birthday party so shhhh." He nodded then moved to get his own mug. Then Josiah shuffled in, sleepy eyes half closed as he croaked.
"Who made coffee?" I bit back a snicker at his morning behavior again and spoke up softly.
"I did." His head whipped around as he just noticed me then grinned widely. Sauntering over to me, Josiah trapped me against the counter with his arms on each side of me and then pressed a kiss to my forehead. Leaning his forehead against mine, he replied as he snatched my mug of coffee.
"Gorgeous and smart, I hit the jackpot." Scoffing, I pushed him off and raised myself up on my tiptoes to reach another mug from the cabinet. Cameron followed me and grabbed his own. As we both poured coffee into our mugs, Cameron questioned curiously.
"So what are you guys up to today?" I shrugged but Josiah spoke up.
"We have a meeting with Colton around 2." I smiled, hopeful that Viviane would have some information on Kristy.
