Chapter 10: Asking

Oh geez its been forever since ive updated im sorry about that.I'm going to try to update much more often... So yeah...

Matt's POV
What if doesn't like this? What if Steph was wrong?
No... she can't be..

"Are you ready?" Stephanie asks, snapping me back into reality.
"Huh?! Did you say something?" I ask.
"I asked if you were ready. Are you? It's about time to be there."
"Oh.. uh, yeah. As ready as I'll ever be."

Nate's POV

I headed over to the park, curious as to what steph had planned. I enter the park and notice an arched bridge over the creek here with a bench on it. I walk up to the bench, sitting on it.

I can almost see the entire park from here. So I should be able to spot Steph easily.

Looking across the park, I started thinking.

What could Steph be planning? Why did she tell me to come here? And to dress nice, at that? I don't get it... What could-

"Ahem," I heard someone clearing their throat, startling me out of my thoughts.

"What the-! Matt! You startled me!" I shouted at the taller boy.

"Uhm, uh.. Im so sorry! I didn't mean to scare you.. hi?"

He sounds so... nervous.. where has all of his confidence gone?

"Yeah, hi.... Hey, have you seen Steph? She told me to come here, and she's ten minutes late!"

"Oh yeah... uhm, its actually me you're meeting up with..." he said, nervously rubbing the back of his neck.

"Oh! okay, what did you want me here for, then?

That question really seemed to bother him. He's a nervous wreck. Seeing him like this, started to get to me. I place a comforting hand on his shoulder, and smile at him. Hopefully, a welcoming gesture. After a minute or two, he slowly sighed.

"Well... I wanted to ask you, if you wanted to... well..." suddenly he stood up to face me. " Will you you out with me?" he practically shouted at me.

Shocked, i simply stare at him. In only a second, his anxiousness had returned, and he muttered "O-only if you want to, of course.."

"Of course I do. When?"

He looked up from the ground to meet my eyes, and that was the most beautiful sight. Eyes bright, smile brighter, he said "How about now? I have something in mind."

Also sorry the part is sooo short. I have trouble writing long parts, but im going to try working on that. 😂😅 Maybe I'll start trying a weekly upload. I'm thinking sundays. Lets see if i stick to that...
