That day, Jaebum is absolutely exhausted, barely able to keep his eyes open and finding the strength to drive to work is just a chore. He almost has Jinyoung drive him but that wouldn't be fair, so he downs the pot of coffee Jinyoung made for everyone and heads out, Jinyoung casting concerned glances between the now empty pot and his back.
It's another warm morning, but he feels cold, dipped in ice. Taecyeon gives him a curious look as he shuffles into the office in a parka and gloves, but doesn't comment, he wants to talk about the break in anyways. He wants to up security.
Jaebum agrees with him, they need better security, they've needed it for a while, Jaebum knows, but apparently it's taken a break in for everyone else to realize it.
Whatever. The important thing is that they're getting it. The other important thing on Jaebum's mind, is Youngjae and BamBam. Him and Mark haven't talked. Mark went right back to bed after the revelation, followed quickly by Yugyeom and Jackson. Even though Jinyoung had seemed even more tired than Jaebum he stayed up with him while he poured over files.
But him and Mark need to talk.
After everyone leaves the house, each only slightly more awake than the last, Jinyoung takes breakfast down to Youngjae and BamBam. The moment they see him they are at his side, taking the wobbling tray out of his hands.
"Are you okay? You look super tired"
"I am, I'm just going to take a quick nap, you two should eat" Jinyoung lays down on BamBam's bed. He attempts to get under the covers but it's so neatly made that his stupid brain can't quite figure it out so he just curls on top of it.
Youngjae and BamBam exchange glances. The door is wide open and Jinyoung is already asleep. Is anyone else home? They don't know. They don't want to know. Slowly, BamBam walks towards the door, arm outstretched. He pushes it closed. He has no way of locking it, but that doesn't matter to him.
Youngjae and BamBam eat their breakfast, and they don't talk about discovering that neither of them want to escape.
When they finish eating, still silent but for Jinyoung's soft breathing, they lay on either side of him. BamBam pressed against his back while Youngjae gets to admire his features. They take the blanket from Youngjaes bed to drape over themselves, it's comfortable and warm.
They aren't tired, but they don't want to wake Jinyoung so they just lay around him, hands entwined over his side, listening. Jinyoung is busy, they know, so they try not to seem needy, but he's the only person they get to see on a regular basis, behinds each other, so they treasure it. It's not like they have much else.
They help as much as they can, keeping their room and the bathroom spotless for him, so he never feels like he has to clean it, eating whatever he brings down without complaint, reading the books he gives them so they can talk about them.
But slowly they're seeing more of the others as well—not Mark, never Mark—but the other three. Jaebum surprised them the most, but they're happy he isn't being mean anymore. In fact, the few times he's been down here he's been loving.
They still aren't asleep when Jackson comes down, home from work a little early. Their hearts race as Jackson opens the door without resistance, but he doesn't seem to notice it being left unlocked.
He starts to get on the bed, but BamBam quickly stops him, worried about waking Jinyoung. He takes Jackson over to Youngjaes bed instead, and lays him there. Youngjae having been trapped by Jinyoung's arms, during his nap.
