I Hate My Date III

I shamelessly spend money sometimes. Is it any wonder that I can't find a home I can afford? I decided on a nice blue dress with black accents. Blue always looked nice on me, but Dark always said he preferred red. I paired it with a decent pair of flats and dropped by Dark's place to use my flat iron on my hair. He ignored me and I desperately wanted to speak to him, but I was afraid to. He seemed...aloof. I fixed my hair and started walking to the door. I looked back at him. "Happy Valentine's Day." I said softly. He didn't respond. "Dark? Look, we're still besties. I'm going with Mark tonight though. He's been through a lot and I've been feeling a bit...off." Nothing. "You can either go with him or with me. One of us is lame, the other is a multidimensional demon." I chuckled. "You're so hard to stay mad at. I really am going with Mark though...we agreed on it." he sighed. "Look, (y/n), I made plans for us...but if you're planning on going with Mark, I'll cancel the whole thing." Guilt trip mode is activated, I see. "Dark...come on..." "Seriously." he said. "I was planning on making everything up to you. I shouldn't have done what I did. I guess just because I don't think it's a big deal doesn't mean it isn't." Aww, he's getting better and better at human emotions. I gave him a kiss on the cheek. "What is it you had planned?" I asked. "Taking you to the mountains. I know how much you love it there." My heart melted a bit. "I had a gift for you, too." Now I really felt shitty. "I...sort of overreacted. I mean don't get me wrong, you are fucking terrifying when you need to be. Holy shit, you almost gave me a massive heart attack, but...I likely got a bit too angry...and I'm sorry." he nodded. "I still have to go with Mark, though. He's expecting me, and I can't back out on him...it wouldn't be right...but I want to go with you, too...could we maybe meet here later?" I asked, hopefully. "I suppose so...but don't be late. 11, okay?" I agreed to it, and departed, heading straight for Mark's. Mark was waiting for me outside and was shocked to see me approaching him so calmly. "I kinda expected you to be mad about Dark." "He was fine. He understands." "Where the fuck was this attitude a few years ago? I can't even name the amount of times he's tried to kill me in my sleep or torture me over stupid disagreements, differences in opinions, just because, or because he felt a left out, disappointed, or-" "Mark I know Dark. He's getting a bit better at reading people...and he's growing a bit more understanding with us." "I don't think I can handle a world with a nice Dark." he replied. I laughed. "A nice Dark? There can be no such thing. Dark is a demon, Mark. He loathes more than he loves...I think we're both lucky to be on his good side, especially you." "If I'm on his good side, I'd hate to know what his bad side looks like. Anyway...where are we heading?" "Downtown? Uptown? My place? Yours?" "I live with Dark." I said. "Oh shit, that's right. How about we just stay in?" "Ugh, but I just bought this dress."  I said, playfully. "Really? It looks nice, by the way." "This is a friendly date." I said, jokingly. "It was a friendly compliment. You must know I love blue. What a good friend you are." Oh my. He seems to have taken notice of me. I blushed a bit. "Well, you tell me where you wanna go." he said. "Um...honestly, it doesn't matter. We can stay here and talk." I said. "Are you sure? You do look really nice." he said. "Mark, you're trying to rebound. Chill." he clammed up. "You're right." he replied. "Sorry, my self esteem has taken a bit of a nosedive." "Well it shouldn't have. Whatever happened is whatever happened. It's not your falt you're..." He smirked. "I'm what, (y/n)?" he asked, already knowing what just slipped. "Super smart." I said. He rolled his eyes. "Smart? You sure you weren't gonna say sexy?" he winked. "Fuck off." I stammered. "Hey, you're not exactly ugly either...but...you're fucking with Dark." "So what? So are you." "Off and on!" he said, defensively. "That's still fucking with him." he rolled his eyes and looked rather impatient. "Alright, what's your angle here?" I asked. "Well, you're more into Dark." he said. It was true, but I didn't wanna hurt his feelings. "Mark. Rebounding. We just talked about that." he blushed. "Fuck, I am so sorry. I need to get my head right." He ushered me inside and we took a seat on the couch together. "So...movies? Games? Pizza?" "All three." I replied. "You know me so well." he said, grabbing me a controller. "There's like 10 boxes of pizza in the fridge...unless you want me to order a fresh one?" "Cold pizza is the best pizza." I said. He chuckled. "You're making me remember why we're friends, (y/n)." he replied. I sat beside him keeping an eye on the clock. "What? Train to catch?" Mark asked, leaning back after watching a movie. "No. Demon to meet. Impatient demon to meet." he frowned slightly. "You...you're gonna do a double date, huh?" "Mark, it's not like that." "No, no I understand." he replied. "Dark is addictive to you. There's something he has that I don't. I'm used to it." I felt shitty. "It's just that...you know, it doesn't matter. I love you both. Can't you accept that?" "Tis the day of love, isn't it?" he said, softly. "Alright, pardon my jealousy." he said. "I just hate that he's so perfect." "He is NOT perfect. He's sincerely flawed in so many ways." "Elaborate." Mark said. "Okay, he kills people. That's sort of a big turnoff for most people." Mark faked a yawn. "He's a demon. Also, it's not like he walks around telling the general public anything. They're clueless to what's lying right beneath their noses." "Okay, he's hypersexual. There is no fidelity in that guy." "Ugh, he's not a person, (y/n). I guess I need to remember that and stop being so salty." I smiled. "Look, for what it's worth I'd love to come back and spend more time with you soon. I miss hanging out. Don't think I never thought of you." He perked up a bit. "Tonight was great, it was nice reconnecting and playing some good games." "That it was." I looked at the clock. "Uh oh, I'm gonna be late if I don't get going like...now. You know how he gets when you make him wait." "He's an even bigger asshole." I laughed. "Definitely." I gave Mark a tight hug. "Night, Mark." I said. "I'll see you later, (y/n)." I made a mad dash for my car and got home just in time to see Dark ushering two women out of his condo. Freak. I sucked in air through my teeth. It stings to know what just went on in there. That used to be an us thing...til I fucked everything up. He seemed surprised to see me. "Normally you run a few minutes late." he said, putting a shirt on. "Normally you run trains. I see you're doing the norm...or you were." "Is that an issue? We were in my room." I brushed off my unsettled emotions. "How about we head out?" I suggested. He hesitated. "Alright..." he opened a portal, looking a bit unnerved. I stepped through it first without thinking about anything. He followed. "So...this is...the top of a nice human world mountain...overlooks the city nicely." I shivered in the breeze. "You can have my coat." he said, offering it to me. I accepted it happily and sat down on a rock. "So. I brought you here to give you a gift. It's nothing much, but it means something to me." I was still thinking about what I'd seen earlier. He had a herd of women...sex is back to being meaningless to him...or even worse, it always has been...even when it was with me. I remembered he could read my mind so I thought of something random. "It meant something to me. Did it mean anything to you? I put forth a bit more effort with you..." Crap, he already read my thoughts. "Dark, I'm sorry." I muttered. "It's alright. Look, here." he handed me a dark gray ring with a deep blue stone. "That was my mom's." he said. I admired it. "I know you can't read Aramaic, but trust me, it's a nice inscription. I inscribed it myself." I looked at him. "How did you do it on such a small surface?" I asked. "I took my time. Mom said I should give this to someone special. I think she wanted me to use it as an engagement ring, but that's never gonna happen. I've just carried it around with me for pretty much my whole life...now I finally have someone to give it to." I'm quite sure I was blushing. "Dark, this is so cool...I love it. I love you." He seemed a bit taken aback by my confession of love. "I...I love you as much as I'm capable of...which is a pretty good amount." I jumped up and gave him a kiss. I guess me jumping was enough to knock him off balance because he wound up on his back and I wound up on top of him. He gave me a look. "So, you can't even wait to get home?" he asked. "That's fine, I don't mind doing it on top of rocks and dry grass." I laughed. "If you want to wait, that's fine." He looked at his phone. "There's not much Valentine's Day left. We've got almost 10 minutes, let's make it fast." He wrestled out of his clothes from the waist down and slid my panties to the side. "Ready?" he asked. "Yes." I whimpered, twitching with desire. He slid into me and dug his nails into my hips, moaning a bit as he did. "You feel so incredible." he muttered, tracing my lower half with his hands. He maintained a steady pace at first, increasing it quickly as the minutes ticked by. "Almost..." he growled. I tried focusing on anything but what was happening between my thighs, but with him, that's impossible. I scratched his chest until he bled...I watched the glorious streaks of black blood appear under my nails and seethed a bit as a climax shook me to my core. I bit my lip harshly and let him take over the action until he came, too. "What time is it?" he asked breathily. "Just after midnight...we didn't make our deadline." I said, a hint of disappointment in my voice. "Well, I think one of us did." he said, winking. "Okay, not fair. I can't help that I'm so easy, and you're so....you." "I can't either, but whatever...we can lie and say it was before midnight if you like." "Honestly, it's not that important...I'm just glad I came out here with you." he seemed relaxed. "I'm glad too. There for a minute, I thought you weren't going to...fuck, I thought you were gonna pack up and run off." "I thought about it, but where am I gonna go that you aren't gonna find me?" "Nowhere. I can go anywhere...interdimensional travel, bitch." I laughed, and pushed him down a bit. A strong breeze swept across my skin. "Okay...it's getting a bit chilly." I said, feeling goosebumps rise up on my skin. "Hm. Looks a bit like rain." Dark commented. "Did you do this?" I asked. He put both of his hands up in a half assed shrug. "Not me. It's just time for rain I suppose." I crawled off of him and dressed quickly. "My place or yours?" he asked. "Yours, duh." I replied without thinking. "Wait...your place is mine." I said, turning around. "You're too easy sometimes." I gave him a shove while he was trying to slip back into his pants. He slipped and then disappeared. I nervously peered over the side of the mountain expecting him to be hanging onto the ledge. Much to my surprise, he was nowhere in sight. What if he was so shocked that he just fell all the way down. Guilt started to plague me until I felt a strange sensation...like something was behind me. I turned around and bumped straight into Dark. "Nice try, but it'll take more than trying to throw me off of a mountain to get rid of me, (y/n)." he said, opening a portal and pushing me through it. I landed on the wood floors with a thump. He strolled right past me and sat on the couch. "I suppose that was payback for scaring you." he said. "Well done, you totally shocked me." I smirked. "I figured." I replied, picking myself up. He patted the seat beside him, inviting me in. I gladly obliged, putting my head on his chest. "So...same time next year?" he asked. "Of course." I replied. "I'll be there."
