"I hope you're being honest." I said, laying under the covers. "I'm always honest." Asmoday replied, looking over at me. "Look, I like you, but I don't want trouble...for you or me...or anyone else." "There's no trouble." he replied. "Trust me, I have a hall pass. I wouldn't have fucked you all morning if I didn't." I was still feeling a bit uncertain. "It's because you're human." he said. "What is?" I asked. "You feel like that because you're human...your kind doesn't act like this." "Well, we do, but it's not accepted...at least, not by most." "It's a bad thing to do to humans. Rest assured, I get it. To us, it's different. Do you regret it?" I sat up. "Hell no, how could I regret messing around with you?" he laughed. "I'm sure someone has at some point. It happens." "I've had my regret guys, but you are not on the list." "I'm flattered." he replied. I looked at my phone. Nothing from Dark. What has that idiot gone and gotten himself into? "Looking for texts?" Asmoday asked. "As usual. Nothing from Dark, I'm beginning to get a bit worried." "He can get himself out of anything. I'm sure he's fine...he's probably hungover in a dumpster or something." I laughed. "Honestly, I could see it happening. He's gotten himself into some real trouble by drinking. I told you he got arrested once, right?" "What's arrested?" Asmoday asked. I explained the police and what they did to people who broke the laws. "Ah...I see, that's a bad thing." "Not for a demon. He weaseled his way right out of the charges." "Sounds like him. God, there's a lot I don't know." "About the human world, maybe." I replied. "There's a lot going on up here." "Surprisingly, my home is a lot slower than this one." I wasn't really surprised. We have billions of people in our world vs around a million demons. No wars, no anything... "No wars? You kidding?" "Quit reading my mind, that is so creepy." I said, plugging my ears. "Plugging your ears won't help you. But really, we've had wars. They were fucking pointless, but still wars." "Really?" "Oh yeah. Most of us can't die so we didn't fight with guns and knives, but way back in the day, we had an all out war between Blood and Fear." I could see it happening easily. The two are very different types of demons. "Not sure what started it...someone probably stepped on a Lego or something equally as fucking stupid, but it got a bit intense. The whole realm was divided for a bit...and those who are still hung up on what type of demon another is self segregate like a motherfucker." "Interesting." I replied. "Did you participate?" "For a bit when I was a kid. I still remember that...how wrong it felt...how ugly it got. Not pleasant memories...I'm glad things aren't that way anymore." "You know, humans have been ugly to one another, too. Slavery, the Holocaust...stupid wars..." He looked intrigued. "Tell me about those things." he said. I stammered a bit. "I'm not really a history buff..." I said. "So? You obviously know some things." I tried my best to explain the evil things mankind has done since its existence. "Sounds awful...sounds like humans have made some serious progress though." "We have." I replied. "Now if only some of us would act like it." I laid my head on his chest and noticed something on his shoulder. "What's that?" I asked, prying at his shoulder. He pushed my hand away. "Nothing." he said. I raised my eyebrow. "It doesn't look like nothing." I pulled at him but he was so much stronger than me. "Either show me or I'll look when you least expect it." He gave a resigned sigh, sat up, and showed me what looked like an old tribal tattoo. "A tattoo, huh?" I asked. "I can't believe I never saw that before considering some of the...positions we've been in." "Look, it's a stupid tattoo and I hate it when someone sees it. I was 19 thousand and fucking dumb. I wanted to look like a badass." I examined the tattoo. It was about the size of my hand and looked like some kind of wildcat. "What is it?" "It's a tribal panther." he replied, sounding embarrassed. "Well, I kinda like it. It's sexy. I like how it looks like it's about to rip someone's head off." "Yeah? I liked it, too. Now it's just a symbol of how impulsive I was when I was younger." "I've always wanted a tattoo but I'm afraid of the pain. Same with Dark." Asmoday chuckled. "It doesn't hurt...but if you get one, make sure it isn't fucking dumb. I regret that stupid panther. I should've gotten something more...me. Like that little devil on my shirt from last night. That's more fitting, I like cute women who have a bad side." I laughed. "Is that why we're friends?" I asked. "That's why we're friends, (y/n). That's why I enjoy our little fun times, too." he winked. I stretched a bit, curling up. "You're cute when you do that." he said softly. "Your voice is like sex when you're hungover." he laughed. "Is it now?" Ugh, the slower and smoother he talked the harder it was to not climb into his lap. "You're so fucking..." my phone vibrated. It was Dark. Ran into troubles. Downtown. Bring my dad. I looked at Asmoday who looked a bit concerned. "Dark found himself in trouble...get ready to get back into that rain out there, he says go downtown." "Aren't we already?" Asmoday asked, getting dressed. "Well, I think he means outside." I replied, dressing quickly. "Whatever he did, I am mad at him in advance for pulling me away from you." Asmoday said. "I'm just worried. He never asks for help." "I sense something a bit demonic going on here." he replied. "I don't like it."
