Matchmaking Disaster (2)
When I arrived in my apartment, I plopped down on my couch with a loud sigh. Summer was nearly there and I didn't know what to do at this point. I was looking forward to have a summer with... I ruffled my hair and almost yanked some of it. I should stop thinking about him now.
Was I that desperate to have a new boyfriend? I mean, going to a matchmaking restaurant sounded desperate, wasn't it? Well, I just wanted to get over to my so-called ex-boyfriend.
Someday, he'd be begging on his knees.
A loud knock on my door made me jump off the couch. I sure hoped that was not him. My annoying neighbor.
When I opened the door, "Hi. You're back. So glad to see you again." he giggled.
It's him.
Anthony Sparks, my neighbor. This guy was so annoying. He's not a player or a bad guy, but he was a nerd. N-E-R-D! I didn't have anything against a nerd. I'd talked to some at the uni and they were all okay, but this one was not just one of them.
I covered my face with my hand. I hoped that signaled him to go away. "What do you want?" I removed my hand and faced him. "Why are you here again? Didn't I tell you that I don't want any disturbance?" I glared at him.
"Well..."
"Get lost!" I shut the door. I opened and it again and shouted on his face, "And don't you dare to knock again." I hoped he got my message.
I rubbed my forehead, feeling so irritated about that guy. He was always like that since the time I arrived here in my apartment. I couldn't stand him.
I looked at the clock, and it's just four in the afternoon. Oh, my gosh. Why time had to be so slow? Couldn't it just tick fast?
I started staring at nowhere. Why did he even cheat on me? I gave almost everything to him. That brunette guy was no good. He just let me fall to him and then what? Leave me?
I felt hot tears poured down my face. I couldn't help but remember the memory. Well, it's just two weeks ago! It was reasonable to cry, but he was so not worth the tears at all. I was just making a fool out of myself. That jerk! He'd surely regret leaving me.
I wiped my eyes with my handkerchief. I promised to myself that this would be the last time I'd cry because of him.
My phone rang so I was out of my so-called nightmare about him. My eyes widened in shock to see him calling me. What should I do? Should I answer it?
Before I could notice, I was holding my phone, ready to press the answer button, and place it on my ear, but something inside of me wanted to stop. But since, I was so naive, I didn't listen to it and just answered the call anyway.
"Hello?" was all I can say.
"Sapphire, hello. How are you?" he asked, and I could tell that he was scratching the back of his head even though I couldn't see him. That's his mannerism especially when asking a stupid question.
"Me?" I asked, feigning innocence. Was he stupid or what? Asking me such stupid question. I didn't get it! Why did he need to know how was I? The mere fact that he left me with some blonde girl, he shouldn't be caring for me at all. "You're asking me? How am I? Are you serious? Don't play dumb with me." I found myself scowling. The most things I hate are crying. Tears were brimming in my eyes, but I just blinked it away so it wouldn't fall like a waterfall.
I heard him having a deep sigh. Why did he even call me if there's nothing he'd say? "Sapphire, I'm sorry." he mumbled. Did I hear him right? Did he just say he's sorry? For someone like him, I didn't even know that he knew those words. "I shouldn't have cheated on you. I was wrong," he continued. I was not able to hold back the tears, so it fell like crazy.
"What you did is unforgivable. Why did you even call me? To say that you're sorry? Why? You don't have the guts to face me and say it personally? You're a jerk and a coward, you know that!" I sniffed, wiping my tears with the back of my hand. "Maybe your conscience is tearing you apart."
"Sapp—"
"Don't call me again!" I snapped, cutting him off before he could say anything else. I didn't need his explanation anyway. He's just wasting my time.
My phone rang again. I immediately picked it up without looking at the caller ID.
"I told you not to call me again!" I shouted.
"Uh, Sapphire? This is Zac," the voice from the other line said. My eyes widened in shock. I looked at the caller ID and it's an unknown number.
A little awkward smile formed on my face. "Oops? Sorry. I thought you were the jackass," I excused. I felt my cheek heat up because of embarrassment.
I heard him chuckle on the other line. Then I remembered what happened earlier at the restaurant. So I hung up without saying goodbye. Oops.

While walking on the hallway, someone grabbed my arm, forcing me to spin around.
He wouldn't stop, won't he?
"What do you want?" I bellowed, crossing my arms over my chest. He was just there, standing like some kind of idiot. "If you won't say anything, I'll go. You're wasting my time." But before I could turn my back on him, he held a tight grip on my arm and pulled me closer to him. I couldn't help but stare at his blue eyes. It's filled with sadness, I could tell that.
"I'm sorry," Harry muttered. He loosened his grip to my arm and let me go. "I'm sorry if I cheated on you, Sapphire. I was a fool, I know that! I shouldn't have done that to you."
"Am I hearing right?" I snapped, my eyes narrowing in confusion. Did he just say the words I wanted to hear from him?
He looked down, and I could tell that he was sincere. I'd been in a relationship with him for one and a half year, so most of his actions made a trademark to me.
I held his chin up, so now our eyes met. "It's really unbelievable hearing those words from you. And I don't think I can forgive you that easily but we'll get to that point eventually. I'm glad you decide to apologize personally, though."
He chuckled a little and I was so glad to see him smile. "So, does this means we're okay?" he asked.
I heard the bell rang already and my eyes went wide like a saucer. I didn't want to be late for my next class. "Yeah, we're okay. See you later," I said before running to my class.
When I was about to turn to the right, my face slammed on to something hard. I rubbed my forehead, irritated of what just happened. My eyes snapped wide open not expecting whom I just saw.
