Matchmaking Disaster (27)

After having a fun vacation at the Bahamas, it’s time for me to return to New Jersey before the school starts. Harry and I will return together. I also decided to leave my car here and just take an airplane ride back there. I thought about it for a million times because I knew if I leave my car, it’s either I rent one or take a ride with Monica, Harry or Zac. But there’s still one thing I had to deal with…

Emerald’s in her room now, crying her heart out. It’s just like the first time I left. When I told her that I’ll be going back to New Jersey, she started whining, “Why?!” She’s still not used to about me leaving her.

“Emerald can I come in?” I slightly opened her door, taking a peek at her.

“Go away!” She threw a pillow at her door. What a violent brat!

I sighed exasperatedly. I was tired of this routine. Whenever II leave her, she’s always like this. I didn’t want to leave her having grudge on me. It’s not just me. I love her so much but she’s becoming too bratty.

Harry smiled at me sheepishly. He knew how hard for me this was. “Let me talk to her.” He entered Emerald’s room. I just took a peek and let them two talked. I knew Emerald would listen to Harry. He’s her big brother.

Emerald’s whimpering, her lips curving down. I hated myself for doing that to her. She immediately hug Harry and started crying out loud. Harry’s soothing her just like a big brother. I found myself smiling at the view that I was seeing.

“She’s unfair. She’s leaving again,” she said between her sobs.

“No, she’s not. You know that we have to study, right?! So we have to go. This is only our vacation. You have spent almost two months with her—“

“No!” she cried out, cutting him off. Okay! What was that suppose to mean?! “We spent a little of her time. She’s with that boyfriend of her. I hated that guy. He stole my sister to you and to me,” she exclaimed as she crossed her arms over her chest.

I felt a little guilt inside me. She was right, but not the part where she told that Zac stole me from Harry. That’s not true, you know that. But the part where she said that I almost spent a little time with her hit like a thunderbolt. It’s definitely true. I did spend almost of my time with Zac. That’s why she always wanted Harry to come over. It’s because she couldn’t have a company with me. I was such a terrible sister.

Harry just kept quiet after that. Was he thinking the same thing?

I didn’t want to eavesdrop anymore, so I went downstairs and waited for him on the couch. I couldn’t bear to hear what he’s going to say to Emerald. We’re friends now. Well, for me, we’re friends but I didn’t know to him. After I asked him to kiss me, I knew there was none. All the sparks that I felt for him were already gone. So I hoped that it’s the same to him too. I didn’t want him to keep loving me and hurt him. He’s a great guy and hopefully he could find someone whom he’ll truly love.

“Hey!” His voice rang in my ear, cutting off my daydreaming. I smiled at him. He had done a great job. “Emerald has something to say to you.” He pushed Emerald a little. She was hiding behind Harry.
