When Sam and Tina approached him for a number, Blaine quickly agreed. He didn't care what song or what range, he would always say yes to any performance because he loved throwing himself at the task. It turned out that seeing as the year was almost over, the three of them had never done a number together, and they needed to change that as soon as possible.
After searching and thinking and brainstorming, the three of them came up with the best song by one of the best groups ever. After thinking, Blaine didn't think anyone in glee had ever done a song by Destiny's Child, well that he knew of, so they went with 'Jumpin' Jumpin.'
It was so much fun, singing and performing the song that was totally not the three of them at all, but it didn't matter. None of them were bad asses, but it was nice to act like they were. They all were in tune with one another, and Blaine couldn't believe that they waited until now to do this.
They ended with a flourish, laughing and having a blast with one another. The room cheered them on, and it was just nice to start the week off with an amazing number with his two best friends here.
"You guys, that was amazing, but-um-I don't think it's right for Nationals," Mr. Schue said after the room quieted down.
"Yeah, cause Unique will not be standing in the background swaying while you guys go all Three-yoncé in the spot light," Unique said, holding up her hands to prove a point.
"Why does everything you say have to sound like that?" Kitty muttered with a fake smile.
"We know it's not right for Nationals," Tina spoke up, gaining the attention back. "We just wanted to do it for fun."
"Yeah, we were talking, and we realized that we never actually done a number together," Blaine said, taking a step forward.
Sam hopped down from the piano, joining Blaine and Tina. "You know, as seniors we realize we were running out of time and we wanted to feel the power of a trio."
"Which I learned in my senior math class is about twenty-five percent less powerful than a quartet," Artie pointed out, and Blaine just smiled.
"Well I'm really glad that you guys did that." The teacher stood up and moved closer to the three. "You probably don't realize this, but these are friendships that you are really going to cherish for the rest of your lives." Sam wrapped his arms around both Blaine and Tina, pulling them in for a hug. "You gotta squeeze in as many experiences you can because for you seniors, you're all going to be going your separate ways soon."
That was what did it. Tina turned towards them, and Blaine saw the sad expression, the tears about to form and her small whining. A Tina break down was something that they tried to avoid. "Oh, no, no, no, no. Tina, don't."
"No, Tina," Sam muttered.
"No, no, no, no, no." Blaine reached out and tried to get her to calm down, but it wasn't working.
Both boys tried to comfort her, and they failed. Sam even resulted in shouting, thinking that it would work, but it only made things worse. "NO! NO!"
"You don't have to cry!" Blaine tried, calmer. He pulled the girl in and both him and Sam wrapped their arms around her while Blaine kept murmuring sweet things. "It's okay. No! We're here! We're here for you!"
"Tina!" Artie called, wheeling over to the three that were embracing. "Guys!" He held out his hands as Blaine and Sam looked at him. "Okay, huh?" He leaned forward and tried to hug them, but Blaine wasn't having it.
"No, you had your turn." He pushed him away and went back to hugging the girl. Artie hogged Tina last week, being nice and sweet to her, so it was his and Sam's turn to have a week with her.
