Riiiing! I jerked awake. For a moment I was thinking about sleeping in. No, they were very clear that they had no tolerance for over sleepers. Anyway, I was still starving and I only had 10 minutes to get to breakfast. I quickly got dressed and hastened out of my room into he corridor. Great. Everyone was gone. Late on my first day. Where was the lunch hall anyway?

I wandered through empty halls and past many rooms. I though I could listen for the noises of hungry people, but everything was silent.

"Wow! This place is well disciplined!" I said out loud. My voice echoed across the hall and when it faded, the lights went out.

I scrambled forwards, holding the walls for support. Suddenly I heard a whisper in my ear.

Your Powers, Ash.

How could I have forgotten? I mentally smacked myself and brought fire to my hand. I was amazed at how easy it was. It lit up the corridor perfectly. I stepped forwards and, to my surprise, there was a stone wall there, blocking my path. I tried to burn it, but it was impervious to fire. Defeated, I turned back.

Will the fire into your eye.

"What?! That's crazy!" I said.

Ash, Trust Me.

I did it.

I don't know how I did, but I imagined the fire blazing in my eye,and all of a sudden, My senses became amazing. I could hear my own heart beat and the ticking of a clock in the distance. I looked around and saw something. that couldn't have been there before...

An opening in the wall.

I stepped through and sure enough, there was a large dining hall just there. I entered and the place erupted in cheers.
