It felt surreal, being surrounded by all this noise after so much silence.

All of a sudden, all of my senses returned to normal and I suddenly felt extremely exhausted. People pulled me into a chair and gave me water and some very sugary cereal. After a while, I began to feel myself again. I glanced up the hall. The teachers were all sat at the top on a long table, facing us.

Then, the man who was sat in the middle (Who I assumed was the headmaster) raised his hands for quiet.

"Morning to all," He said, "As you probably know by now, we have a new trainee. Everybody say welcome to Ash."

"Welcome Ash!" Everyone in the hall answered. It struck me as odd, that there wasn't one person in the hall that didn't say it. I brushed it off however, as this was the least weird thing that had happened.

"I personally think Ash deserves a round of applause for being the fastest ever trainee to complete the first Fire Test."

So I wasn't late, I had actually completed a test. What test? I didn't know.

"Everyone should make Ash feel welcome, as his partners have not arrived yet." The Headmaster continued,

"But that is not an excuse to slack off in training, Ash."

I nodded.

There was 50 people in the hall at least. I hadn't realised that there were that many people like me.

"Abi, show him around the college please. That is all."

My guide stood up and walked towards me. I noticed that it was the person that had woken me the day before. They seemed fairly nice.

"Your first lesson is Defence, where you learn to defend yourself with your powers without hurting anyone else. Follow me!" Said Abi and she walked briskly down the corridor, her wild red hair billowing behind her. I quickly followed, not wanting to be late. I caught up with her.

"I'm a fire too you know."

I nodded. I didn't feel like saying much.

"Your a man of few words, aren't you?"

I nodded again.

"Here you are, this is your training room."

"But there's no one in there."

"Exactly, the first ever lesson is kind of a meet and greet in your group of 4. But you don't have a group."

"Nope," I said, "Not yet."
