*Matt's P.O.V.* 2 years later...

I readjusted my hood as I started to walk out of the restaurant. The rain came down hard.

"I should have listened to her..."

The darkness mixed with it raining cats and dogs made me feel guilty. I started to run feeling the moisture seep through my hoodie.

After a few minutes I reached the apartment building. I scrambled for my keys as I opened the building's door. I took off my hood exhaling as I walked to my apartment. I unlocked the door and slowly walked in closing the door behind me.

"I told you that it was supposed to rain today."

I turned around to see Kylee with her arms crossed over her chest. I knelt down to take off my shoes. "I know. I should have listened." I heard Kylee exhale heavily as she walked away.

I stood back up and took off my damp hoodie.

"Make sure you hang up your hoodie so that it dries!" Kylee called out to me.

I shook my head, smiling and went to do as she said. After I finished I sat down on the couch in the living room. I turned on the tv, and Kylee came in carrying Amelia.

"Look Daddy's back." Kylee walked over and sat next to me.

Amelia reached out to me, and I took her from Kylee. "How's Daddy's little girl?" I kissed her forehead.

I couldn't believe that she was already almost 2. I ran my fingers through her hair. She had short hair, but it was full and jet black like Kylee's. She smiled at me. Her skin was lightly toned, and she had brown eyes. Amelia laid against my chest.

I turned to Kylee. "Has she said anything yet?"

Kylee shook her head in defeat. "No, she hasn't uttered a word. Maybe she's just shy, Matt." She ran her fingers through Amelia's hair.

Amelia was sound asleep now.

"But didn't the doctor say that she was supposed to at least be trying to talk by now?"

"I mean yes, but maybe she just doesn't see a reason to, Matt. She's just with me all day, so she doesn't see it as necessary since I understand her."

"Just keep trying to get her to talk, okay? Anything."

Kylee nodded then a knock came from the door.

"I'll get it. Take Amelia." Kylee took Amelia from me, and I went to answer the door. I opened it to see Benjamin.

"Hey Matt! What's up?" He smiled brightly as we shook hands.

"Nothing much. Come on in dude."

Benjamin walked in, and I closed the door then followed behind.

"Who was- Benjamin!" Kylee got up and walked over to us.

"Where's Amelia?" I pushed pass Benjamin.

"I laid her down on her blanket on the couch."

I nodded and walked over to the couch. Sure enough Amelia was laying down asleep on top of her pink blanket. I slowly picked her up, and she slightly stirred in her sleep.

"How's she been doing? Said anything yet?" Benjamin and Kylee walked over.

Kylee sighed shaking her head. "No. We've gotten nothing from her." Kylee looked over at me then walked over. "I'll take her in her room." She took Amelia from me then walked away.

Benjamin sat next to me on the couch. "I don't know if I'd said it already, but Amelia is so beautiful. It's obvious that she takes after her mother." Benjamin smiled looking slightly away from me.

I sighed running my fingers through my hair. "Yeah. I know, but I'm really worried about her."

"Who Kylee or Amelia?"

"Both. We haven't been able to get anything out of Amelia, and Kylee's stressed out worrying about not only me and Amelia, but also herself. She's seeming weaker and weaker everyday I just want her to relax sometime."

"Then relax together. All three of you. Maybe take Amelia out to a theme park or a playground. Get some ice cream. You never know maybe it'll get Amelia-"

"Matt!" Kylee nearly screamed my name.

I darted for Amelia's room with Benjamin following.

"What! What's wrong? Are-"

"Daddy!"

Kylee had her mouth covered by her hands, and Amelia ran towards me then hugged my legs. I picked her up, and she smiled brightly at me.

"Hey baby girl. Can you repeat what you said to Mommy for me?"

Amelia slightly adverted her attention.

"Amelia?" I poked her cheek. She looked back at me.

"I-I- I love you!" Her face became slightly flushed as she adverted her graze again.

I kissed her forehead. I was overcome by happiness. "I love you too, Amelia."

Kylee came over, and we all had a group hug.

*Benjamin's P.O.V.*

I quietly watched from the doorway as Matt, Amelia, and Kylee all shared a family hug.

It made me feel content and happy. It was nice to see the girl I loved happy. Maybe finding an everlasting romance isn't too hopeless...
