Where there was a mesmerizing waterfall of love on one side, there was a beautiful river of hatred on the other side!
The other side? Well, I'm talking about "The Chauhan Mansion". They were highly rich compared to the Solanki house I.e., Shardha's family. They were in Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan. while Shardha's family lived in the famous Boondhi.
Nirmala Nand Kishore Singh Chauhan, a lady filled with love for her family. She and her father in law, Sujaan Singh Chauhan were the only ones who bothered to pray to god in the morning. They had an in-house temple, where they prayed every morning. Nirmala set the table for Nand kishore, her husband and Sandhya, who is considered to be her sister. Since they had an urgent meeting in the office, their breakfast was set on the table. Nirmala then walked up to the in-house temple and prayed to God. After which she picked up the plate that was all set, with some Kumkum, flower petals, Prasad and a lit camphor arranged neatly. She showered the flower petals over the idols in front of her. Then she turned around to find her father in-law standing in front of her with a broad smile.
She smiled back at him. She then bent down to touch his feet. While Sujaan Singh Chauhan, her father in-law, blessed Nirmala. She forwarded the Thali (plate) to him. He picked up the prasad and took a bite. She smiled and walked around the house with the thali in her hand. She walked up to her son's room, her eldest son, Kunal Singh Chauhan. A young handsome man with some cool attitude towards life, need not mention how the girls of his college go crazy about him. He took his mom's blessing and kept the prasad into his mom's mouth and smiled. She smiled at her son. Kunal was pretty busy packing his bags. So he went back to his work as soon as she turned around to leave. She then walked to her younger son's room. She found her younger son, Karan Singh Chauhan, busy packing his bags too. While his younger sister,Khyati Singh Chauhan, sat on one of the chairs on the side, eating up Karan's ears, gossiping about everything under the sun.
Khyati stood up on her heel and shut her mouth as soon as she spotted her mother at the door. Nirmala didn't utter a word, she just smiled. Finding the sudden silence, Karan turned around. He had his usual serious expression put up on his face. As his mother walked with the Thali, his expression changed. He looks a lot more irritated than usual. He walked forward, took her blessings and turned away.
While Khyati hopped cheerfully towards her mother, took her blessings and picked up the prasad.
Nirmala was really worried about Karan and his rude behaviour towards everyone. He had built a shell to protect himself, turning into an introvert. Nirmala spoke up,"Karan are you done with your packing?"
"Yes", his voice was hardly heard. She walked out of the room.
As she walked downstairs, back into the living room, she found her husband and her sister walking towards the main entrance. They were leaving for office. She took larger steps, increased her speed and managed to reach there, right in front of her husband.
She forwarded the thali, while he put up an annoyed expression. He picked up the prasad from the plate, looked at the in-house temple, prayed to god and stormed out of the house. She felt her chest ache with pain because of his rude behaviour. But she hid it with a sweet smile as she looked at her sister.
Sandhya gave her a pitying smile. She prayed to god and picked up the Prasad.
At the same time, the siblings walked out of their rooms, Kunal and Karan carrying their luggages while Khyati walked along with them. Kunal walked down first and Khyati followed. After which Karan had decided to walk down with his luggage.
Sandhya and Nirmala looked up at them while Dadaji walked towards his daughter in law. The brothers walked ahead and hugged all of them, bidding goodbye. Not to forget that the brothers don't feel each other's presence. They walk out of the main entrance at same time and bang into each other.
But they don't speak a word, they glare at each other in anger. Kunal noticed his father standing next to his car. He had just finished attending a call over his phone. Kunal walked ahead to bid him goodbye. While, Karan kept his luggages in his car. Kunal and NK hug each other.
"Where is that Karan, by the way?", asked NK. And immediately they hear a huge bang, as Karan shut the door of his car. It was almost like a slap on NK's face. NK was usually irritated with Karan and this scene added to the list. Karan behaved like this since a very long time. You must have noticed how much grudge he has upon his brother and his dad.
Soon his car left the compound. While Kunal took his dad's blessings and left in his car.
I'm sure you must be thinking where the brothers are off to. Well, it was the ending of May and they had the first day of their colleges starting soon. And it was their last year in the college. Kunal was excited but Karan wasn't. The brothers studied in two different colleges noting the grudge upon each other. They had two separate house all for themselves, situated somewhere around their colleges. They were going to those independent houses.
While air of hatred filled the lungs of the members of Chauhan Mansion, there was fun , love, laughter and care filled in the air of Solanki house.
"Did you both pack your bags?" Shardha asked her daughters. The two sisters were leaving for their colleges too. they stayed in their college hostels. They too went to two different colleges in Jaipur.
Naina replied, "yes Mumma.."
Meghna hugged her mother from the side and rested her head on her mother's head saying," But Mumma I don't want to go.."She sounded like a small kid.
Shardha just said, "Gudiya..." She couldn't say any further.
Naina grabbed the opportunity to tease her sister. She cleared her throat, made her voice sound a little bold like her mother's as she spoke, "Kya Gudiya... Bacho ki tarah baatein kar rahi ho! Arey rey.. ab bacho ki tarah rona nahi!" (What Gudiya? why are you talking like small kids? Aww.. don't cry like small ones now..)
Naina laughed out as she finished. Meghna released her mother from the hug. And placed her hands on her hips, rolling her eyes at Naina. While Meghna glared at her naughty sister, Shardha smiled at Naina. Naina started running as her sister chased her. Their laughter echoed in the house.
And suddenly the smile on Shardha's face disappeared. The door bell rang. Shardha walked ahead and opened the door, finding a driver standing in front of the door, she felt unhappy that her daughters were leaving for their colleges. They had changed their colleges. Since traveling far had disturbed their studies and they found it difficult to get a hostel room or a house for rent they changed the colleges. But now they end up in two different colleges and two different hostel, which is pretty obvious.
Meghna and Naina arranged their bags in the two different cabs that were waiting in front of their house.
They bent down and touched Shardha feet. Shardha made them stand upright and hugged them as her eyes teared up.Shardha repeated her words of care for the 100th time today,"Gudiya.. Cheeku.. please take care of yourself. Study well. Make good friends. And also call me if there is anything. And do talk to each other daily. Only you both understand each other. But obviously not more than how much I know."
She giggled while her two daughters shared glances and smiled at their mother. They hugged each other and sat in two different cabs and left.
