Naina held onto the guy's shirt as she slipped at the entrance of the classroom. She heard someone whisper as her eyes were still shut tight with fear, "Get those two out of there. The slippery floor is specially for the the professor!"
Naina slowly opened her eyes to have a look at the person. "Tum?" she she almost shouted and covered her mouth. It was none other than Karan who saved her from falling. (You?) His arms were around her waist; his umbrella had fallen off his hands, probably the first time it had fallen from his hands. He gave her a disgusted look, pulled her up and picked up the umbrella. Naina looked confused again.
Why is he pissed with me now? What did I even do? I didn't know that I would slip there. And why the hell is he so obsessed with that umbrella? UGH!!!
Naina walked up to an empty space. and sat down there. Naina found a gang for herself by the lunch break.
"Naina, looks like your information passed across to me wasn't wrong. You are a bright student. I know it will take time to settle down in here. But I think you can do that pretty well. So I would like to give you a small task." said the professor before leaving the class for lunch.
"It would be great if you and Karan could join hands and help each other. He can tell you all that we had finished over with the class. and in turn you could help him out with his studies. What say?" continued the professor. "Think about it and let me know your decision"
Sanjana, one of Naina's new friend, spoke up, "I suggest you dropped the plan of helping him with his studies and all of that. We will tell you about all that you missed out on. It's just that, Karan, he is too tough to handle. I'm sure you will not be to handle his mood and stupid tantrums. You will end up loosing your patience."
Now, Naina would have stepped back and genuinely dropped the plan of of shaking hands with Karan but then the advice Sanjana had given her was almost challenging Naina's capabilities. she simply smiled.
"Are you coming? We generally go out of the classroom and have our lunch..." Merlin said, changing the topic, pretty clear of the fact that she was hungry. She frowned and rubbed her stomach, indicating that she was hungry.
Naina's smiled at her cuteness,"Actually you all should go ahead. I would like to stay back and take up the task."
Sanjana walked away throwing her hands up in the air,"As you wish!' on the disappointment that she refused to listen to her advise.
Naina stood up and spun around to have a look at Karan's desk. Karan was seated somewhere at the back, the entire bench belonged to him. She stood there waiting for the entire class to walk out.
The class always avoided talking to Karan, who had tag names such as- loser, joker, clown, etc. Everyone considered talking to him as a sign of a falling reputation of their own. The class was pretty heartless and selfish to see the good soul with a broken heart that Karan carried. His past made him the way he is at present!
Naina walked up to Karan's desk.
"Hi Karan! Why are you sitting here alone? Why didn't you go out for lunch with your friends? Why are you sitting in the corner of the class like this? I hope you heard sir? He told us to..." Before she could complete her sentence Karan barked back at her.
"WHY DO YOU HAVE TO ASK SO MANY QUESTIONS? WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM? CAN'T YOU MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS?"
Naina stared at him for sometime and continued,"Well, I am minding my own business. Didn't you hear that? Sir had given us a small task of helping each other....."
He interrupted her once again, "Stop it , Naina! I've no interest in sharing anything with you. you can drop the task! You can tell sir that you can't handle me and my mood swings and walk away. This is how it had been going on since long so you can do the same. Just give up, Naina!"
