"You okay?" I look up and see Matsuda looking at me unsurely.
"Yeah." I stand. "He just struck a nerve." I smile weakly.
"Mr Yagami is waiting for your decision Miss Sakura." I glance back at the two doors.
"Perfect." I smile, wiping my eyes, grateful I had no eye make up on.
"Mr Yagami?" Matsuda knocks on the door to the Kira squad room.
"Ahh Matsuda, Miss Sakura, please come in." We are beckoned inside by Mr Yagami.
"Who have you decided to put forward to impersonate me Anuzu?" I am asked.
Say it. Say his name. Make him suffer.
I close my eyes. "Toru." I reply, despite wanting to see Dwaine die, Toru is more level headed and less phycopathic than Dwaine. "Is that all L?" I ask.
"Yes. Until we meet again Anuzu." he replies.
"Thank you." I smile, nodding and bowing before leaving.
Or at least trying to, self forfilling prophecy sucks. I walked straight into a lean brunette boy with brown eyes on my way out.
"Sorry." I apologise.
"Oh don't worry, totally my fault. I wasn't looking." he excuses.
"Neither was I." I giggle. "Sorry again. I must be going. Bye." I scurry toward the limo that dropped me off.
I look back and spot the brunette and wave to him. He smiles back, returning the wave.
I wonder who that was; random guy wandering through the police station carpark... maybe it's someone random or maybe it's Mr Yagami's son; Matsuda said that he's around sometimes. I shrug, waiting until we're far away from town before tearing off my wig.
Upon reaching the house I am faced by L. He's stood, hunched over, leaning on the doorframe of the kitchen, eating cake.
"What's wrong; are you upset that I'm the only one who has cake?" I am asked. I giggle. "If you want there's still about three quaters of a cake in the kitchen, I'll cut you a slice."
"Thanks." I smile. "If you'll excuse me I have to get this dress off."
"Go ahead." he nods. I smile, racing upstairs, changing from the rancid dress into a white wollen dress and navy leggings as well as a pair of white fluffy boot slippers.
I pad downstairs and join 'Ash' on the sofa.
"Here's your cake Hisui." I am handed a slice. I smile gratefully at him.
"How was school in England?" I am asked.
"I have done well for myself. I aced phycology and sociology at college and was offered a place at a high end university to do a degree in criminology." I reply.
"Wow; will you take up that offer?" he asks.
"I don't know; I don't want to spend three years learning the tricks of the trade if I only have five years with sight. But I don't want to have ten years of sight and not do what I've always wanted to do; help people." I hang my head.
"Fair." L muses.
"I think I need time to make a descision." I shrug, hair in my eyes.
"Do you want me to put your bandages back on?" 'Ash' asks. I nod, slowly the gauze is draped around my head, covering my eyes.
"I hope that we find more information about Kira after tonight." I state.
"We will. The process we're working with allows the broadcast to be aired in regions of Japan and then we will spread out." I am informed.
