He watches from the corner of the room as she awakens, and smiles as she wipes sleep from her
eyes and calls out groggily, "Damon?" and looks around, dazed. She grins slightly as she finally
finds him. He walks over to her and sits on the edge of the bed. Before he can speak, she stops
him by pressing her lips to his. "I apologize greatly for last night. A highly disturbing nightmare
disrupted my sleep. It was very kind of you, allowing me to stay the night, but I must be going. I
have some things to attend to." He nods.
"Miss Elaina, I understand. No need to apologize for the incubus, and it was my pleasure." His lips graze her right hand. She rises from the bed and begins to gather her things. Damon just watches her, wishing that he hadn't given her the dream. As she opens the door to leave, he slips
something wrapped in a kerchief into her hand. Looking down at it, she smiles. A scone.
"Thank you, kind sir," she says.
"M'lady," he bows and steps away from the door, allowing her to move through, but she grabs his shirt, pulling him close and he connects their lips, their tongues wanting the pleasure to last
longer, but she pulls away, grinning devilishly.
"Good day Mr. Salvatore." She goes through the door, bounds down the steps, and runs down the
cobblestones, dress bouncing and swaying behind her in the breeze.
Elaina can't stop dwelling on her nightmare. It felt so...real. How silly am I, she thinks, for
such monsters cannot possibly exist in the real world. Still, something about Stefan seemed
horrifyingly familiar. Now that she thinks on it, her first encounter with Damon was also strange. No, she scolds herself, there are no such things as demons.
