Jean x Deaf!Reader

"Cadet _______!" the corporal sounded quite angry, but you just saw the short man with stoic face in front of you, and you didn't quite understood what he wanted, his expression was still as the water in the lake in windless day. Then, a leaf fell in it's unclear and unexplored waters, changing the tension between you and your captain to another person. And that leaf was Jean Kirschtein.

"Sir! As far as I know, that girl you are currently talking to is deaf!" the little leaf was keeping afloat, but the lake was too big and too unwelcoming to swim across. The whole idea of doing that was absurd.

"Well then, maybe my cadets should tell me that there is a deaf person in the squad, not hide it from me. Kirschtein and _______(last name), West Wing of the building is all yours, not a single speck of dust on the floors to be found. You know where to find the brooms."  Levi made a 180 degree turn on his heels and walked away, leaving his squad roam free. The leaf drowned in the lake's giant waters. 

"Hah, Kirschtein, you got chores to do today?" Eren teased, but Mikasa pulled on his sleeve, telling him to stop. 

 "Let's go ____, we need to start right now if we want to finish until midnight with these chores..." Jean was about to go to take some brooms and water, but he saw a questioning look on your face. "Oh, right..." 

First, Jean pointed at himself, then at you, and made a couple of strokes with an invisible broom. 

"Um... Captain told us to do chores?" you asked, and Jean nodded a few times and made you a sign that it's time to go pick up some brooms and start working. 

You two were scraping the floor with water, and the rooms you cleaned were shining, the afternoon sun reflecting on the clean surface of the floors.

After seven hours of non-stop cleaning, your muscles screamed with pain, and your body was too tired and exhausted to carry on. You leaned against the wall, and your eyes became heavy, as you closed them "only for one second", as you thought. 

"_____? I think we can finish for now. Let's go put up the brooms." he turned around and saw you sleeping, leaning on your broom. A gentle smile ran on his face, as he tried to absorb with his memory every single speck on your peaceful face. 

"Hey... ______... Time to wake up!" he carefully tapped you on the shoulder. As you opened your eyes, you saw Jean's face unexpectedly close to your own, which made you unconsciously blush. Jean continued to talk, but you just saw his lips moving, you couldn't tell what he wanted to say.

"_____, you know... I wanted to tell you for a long time... I... I like you!" he looked at you, his face crimson red, waiting for a response, but you shrugged your shoulders, not understanding what is he trying to say. 

He pointed at himself, then at you, and leaned in, as if he wanted to whisper something in your right ear. Instead, you felt his soft lips on your cheek.
