epilogue x how easy can this be?

::

"This is seemingly very easy. Almost as though it happens to be a trap."

"I did explain to you, Thor does not believe anyone would dare to steal this."

"Well, he happens to be very wrong."

"That is not very surprising, you know."

"That was simply rude."

The whispers came from the two goddesses hidden behind a pillar, eyeing the guards standing in a ring around the royal crown of Asgard -- which now belonged to Eydis' brother. She had had the brilliant idea of stealing it, which Kari had instantly agreed to.

"Did you bring it?" Eydis whispered, and Kari grinned at her, holding out a sparkling, silvery object that seemed minuscule next to the royal crown, even this far away.

"Of course I did," she whispered back. "What kind of mischief goddess would I happen to be if I neglected to bring it?"

"A worse one than you already are."

"Eydis!"

Eydis only flashed her a wicked smirk, before slipping out under an illusion Kari had created to surround her to draw the guards away. As soon as they were gone, Kari hurried to the crown, picking it up and setting down the other object in its place and slipping back to her hiding place just as the guards returned.

One of the head guards exclaimed and hurried forward to pick up the object now sitting there as Eydis rejoined Kari, and both goddesses laughed at the guard's words.

"Is this a tiara?"
