Landon Xyne.
We all love his personality as much as he loves his bagels.
So let's see how his life was before Jordan showed up.
****
I took off in a sprint while I heard the cop sirens coming closer.
I looked to my right and ran into the dark all...
And I thanked God for that. I prayed that he was safe, and he did make him safe.
I was still sitting on the chair and this time it was day time and after that little scene, I didn't fall back asleep. I was waiting for him to wake up again. He was breathing normal and he seemed normal but knowing things can always switch in the matter of seconds.
So staying up seemed the best option and I knew it was the best option.

Couple of hours pasted by and I was taking quick naps but I would jerk myself up and looked straight at Landon but he was still asleep. But finally, it was nine o'clock in the night and he started to stir up. I looked towards him and his head flops to the side and looks at me.
He raised an eyebrow and I do the same. He gives me a small smile and opens his mouth and tries to say something but he closes his mouth quickly and his eyes closed tightly. "I think you should let your wound heal before you can speak man." I said as I got up and walked towards him. He opens his eyes and narrows his eyes at me. He points his finger at me but I see his eyes lock with his hand. The heart monitor starts to beat faster and faster and I panicked.
He looks towards me and then back to his hand and thats when he freaks out and starts to try to take out the needles. I rush towards him and hold his hands down but he stirs around the bed and his heart is beeping faster and faster and his breathing tube is barely giving him air. "Landon! Stop! You're going pass out! Stop!" I yell as I pin down his hands at his side. He has his eyes closed as he pushes his head back into the pillow as his chest moves up and down fast.
Maybe a good five minutes he calms down but I still have his wrists in my hand. He opens his eyes and nods at me, and I do the same and slowly let go. I sit on the edge of the bed and watch him to see if he'll take out the needles again. "Why take them out?" I asked. He shrugs his shoulders and looks around the room.
"There has to be a reason Landon, you can't just randomly do it for no reason." He looks towards me with a blank face. I stare at him for awhile but I forgot he's not going to speak because of his throat. "Do you not like the needles? Or do you not want the medicine?"
He nods his head slowly. I tilted my head, "which one?"
'One' he mouthed.
"Are you afraid of needles or what?" He only nodded and waited for me to say something.
"Oh." Is all I said. I didn't know what to say. I knew if I laughed he would only hurt more. That's his fear, and that's what he has to deal with right now. They have to sit in his hands and arms till he leaves this damn place. "I'm afraid of my pa." I mumbled as I looked at my hands.
I rather be afraid of needles than that man.
I looked towards him and see his staring at me with the same face. I gave him a soft smile but he didn't move anything. I sighed and laid down, avoiding his legs. "I never told that to anyone that- well I have, but I made a mistake." I closed my eyes and took a deep breath in. "I caused him his death." I opened my eyes and jumped to my feet. "I messed up. I messed up." I looked around and looked around to see if anyone can hear. "No,he's-" I looked over to him and my eyes started to weld with tears. "Damn it!" I yelled. I looked around and looked at the door just waiting for him to barge through.
Something hits my side and I see a pillow fall next to my feet. I looked at Landon with tears falling down my face and he shakes his head slightly with his eyebrows raised, looking so confused. "Sorry."
He gives one slow nod and looks at the stand with a cup of water on it. His hand goes towards it and he completely ignores his hand and grabs the water. I watch him as he tries to drink water but I guess it hurts too and he starts to cough but have a pain face. "Oh- I need to get the doctors. They told me to get them when you wake up...again." He nods and throws his head back on the pillow and stares at the ceiling.
So, I walked out and looked around for some doctors but instead I found a nurse. I told her what the other doctors told me, and she told me she would find me his doctor and send him on his way. So I walked back in and I see Landon staring at his heart monitor and just watching each plus go by.
"The doctor should be here in a bit. I don't know how long we have to stay here- oh." I got his attention because he looked at me straight in the eyes, "we're not in Chicago- well maybe? Not sure. But we're not in the same hospital. They had to fly you in a helicopter to this hospital because your wound was too major-" there was a knock on the door and I continued to stare at Landon and see him staring at me with his mouth somewhat open.
"Hello guys, my name is Dr. Cowan." I look over my shoulder and see him walking towards us while the door closes behind him. He walks to the edge of the bed and makes eye contact with me and nods but I just stare at him. He then looks back to Landon and smiles, "it's a miracle for you to even be alive Landon." He chuckles but Landon doesn't thinks it's funny.
I don't either.
"Anyway, the bullet past major areas of your neck and missed the spinal cord. I'm not sure if you'll have your voice the same, but you're even lucky to have your vocals. I only have few patients like you, and I call you guys a miracle of a second chance. If the bullet hit a centimeters either direction, you could've been either bleeding rapidly or slowly but make you feel like your drowning, but in your own blood. So, we successfully took out the bullet and have you on a breathing tube because your throat is beaten up pretty badly, so we'll have you here for a week or so, keep you in check and check if you have a infection or you're good to go. But I can't tell if you're good for right now. We just finished the surgery and the breathing tube seems to be working but everything can change, but it's all up to you if you change your cards of living." He smiles. I clench my jaw but look towards Landon and see him slowly nodding.
"You'll have a nasty scar but at least you'll have scar than being six feet underground. I'll check on you tomorrow. You two should gets some rest," He looks towards me, "especially you boy. Worst bags I ever seen before." I cross my arms across my chest but don't say anything.
"Alright. I'll leave you two by yourselves. Call me if anything goes wrong, good night boys, I'll see you two tomorrow."
